1  Re: Open Tin Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Killam Creative on: August 06, 2019 02:06:05 PM
Yay!  I have received the most fabulous butterfly tin from Wulf!  I love every bit of her, from her Believe crown down to her glittery, dotty, base.  From what Wulf said, this cheeky one took on her own personality as he was making the tin.  She reminds Wulf a little of a drag queen, so you KNOW I have to give her a fabulous DQ name now.  Im thinking something along the lines of Spread Yawings, but thats too clunky.  Ideas?  Swall OTail?

Thanks so much Wulf!  I love her so.  Did you make her from clay?  That is amazing.  She has a tiny dress with headdress on, too.

Oh! Oh, I also received a tree bookmark *and* the outer wrapper of the box was an old map.  Ill put that to good use, too!

Nah, you don't need paper!  I made this for MissingWillow many moons ago.  Her theme was Zombie Sheep.  This still makes me laugh!

3  Re: Mini 13 Days of Halloween Rnd 8 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Killam Creative on: June 28, 2016 06:24:08 AM
Here's the package from Missing Willow!

I finally got to open the first 3 days!

Day 1: The table is set for a ghoulishly good time!

Day 2:  An art doll witch! I admit I squealed and got a little happy-teary when I opened her.

Day 3:  A wee trick-or-treater in true vintage costume style!

Day 4: OMG. A fantastic selection of homemade goat milk soaps. They smell SOOO good!

Day 5: A batty bar set and 3 gin recipes.  SQUEE!

Day 6: Ooh, this one is super special. We spent hours doing pottery together last summer. I love knowing the space she sat in while making this wee shrine.  This brings back fun memories!

Day 7: A wicked little mantle!

Day 8: A mug, mug rug, and a little bit o' sweet! I love this glaze, MW. ...Wait a minute. There are pockets in my mug rug!

Day 9: A pewter serving tray with a rat! It has candy on it now. Perfect! The Halloween coasters are reversible - I'm in love wth the dancing skelly. Smiley

Day 10: Ok, so this altered tin made me weak in the knees. MW, you win. I adore this scene. No lie - I stared at the moon last night wondering if he really *does* see me. Sigh.

Also - The green felt grass is fantastic, the ceramic moon is perfect, and the bunny melts me.

Day 11: These bowls! I'm so fancy now. And hungry for Pimento Cheese! Yours is so good and I appreciate that you sent your recipe. Yum!

Gah! I just realized the gold paint doesn't show well -- the houses and bowl base are all gold. Fancy!

Day 12: Spider Scarf! Eek! I love it so much.

This morning in bed I watched a spider walk around a small area above the bed. It looked to be making a web on the ceiling surface... why? Is it going to have babies and the web helps them from falling in their first hours? ::shudder:: I should go back in there and check, right? I mean, it's over my bed.

Day 13: Halloween kitchen towels! I was secretly hoping MW would send something embroidered. Killam Manor makes me so happy!

Missing Willow - thank you SO MUCH! This has been a fun swap with a special partner. ::smooches::

4  Patriot Altered Tin in Completed Projects by Killam Creative on: February 20, 2016 07:59:38 PM
I recycled a soap tin into a patriotic-themed scene. Inside are vintage bits and bobs from here and there. The wooden piper was found in a box at an old toy store nearby. He is perfectly distressed from tumbling around with lead soldiers!

5  Fairy Garden Box in Completed Projects by Killam Creative on: September 23, 2014 11:11:44 AM
I made a fairy garden for my sister cackle in the IYP 26 swap. It was difficult to part with!

It's a cigar box that I sanded and covered with paper. I left some of the pretty wood bare.

This was so much fun to make!

6  Re: IYP 26: So you think you can craft! Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Killam Creative on: September 20, 2014 02:11:25 PM
I received the most wonderful and thoughtful IYP swap from cackle! I told her how much I loved her Christmas ornaments. Guess what she did?! She made me a whole tree trimming kit in miniature! It will be perfect for a 24" table top tree.

Sets the tone:

Here's the beautiful box outside:

This is a not-so-good photo (I was rushing the pics - sorry!) of the whole kit:

Inside -- each beautiful ornament was wrapped in tissue, but that doesn't make for a good photo...):

Some details--

Look at the tiny Merry Christmas banner!

The wee ornaments on the left:

The wee ornies on the right:

A look at the tops:

Cackle, thank you so much. I will treasure this forever!

I received from Mountains and Clouds then promptly fell off the face of the Earth/internet....

Edited to add pictures!

Here's the fun mini tin Mountains and clouds made for my Halloween theme:

Can you see the light? There's a wee switch on the bottom to light up the pumpkin's insides -- very hard to photograph but very cool to see!

Thanks so much Sara!

Yay! I can't believe it arrived so fast! The moon's wire can be straightened so he doesn't look like he passed out in transit. 😄 The pocket in front says: " She had the stars in her pocket and the moon on a string". I'm so happy you like it, MnC!

Here's another photo with the moon standing tall. You shouldn't have a problem bending the wire straight as long as you're careful.

9  Boo! Halloween Spool in Completed Projects by Killam Creative on: June 15, 2014 07:52:18 AM
I made this for pottermouth in the Altered Spool Swap. She had Halloween as a possible theme so I ran with it.

Here's one of the three spools - It was "stained" with a little bit of ink.

The raven spool was painted black and covered with papers, and the third is a tiny half-spool stuck to the back of the skellie. I used a wire hanger as the skellie stand - bent to slide into the top of the half-spool and stuck to a small stand at the base.

Come see the awesome Altered Spool Swap gallery here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=433749#axzz34XwBavCH

OK swappers, be prepared to be amazed. AMAZED, I say! After a crushingly long wait, the postie delivered pottermouth's fantastic spoolie art. OMG, is all I can say right now.

I give you the wonderful world of Fairy Hill.

Hand carved (?) doors and windows!

Carved cork doorway cover and pinecone seed window shades!

See what those fairies are hiding?

I am so thrilled with this, pottermouth! Thank you so much for your attention to detail and creative mind. I'm a lucky swapper!
