181  CANADA / Ontario / Re: Downtown Toronto Crafty Mini-Collective? on: October 12, 2005 07:14:10 PM
I feel the same void!!  I'm in my last year at UofT and would do anything to get myself out of studying(I'm actually procastinating from writing a paper right now!!)  I'm really the only crafty one of my friends and would love to share ideas and check out want other people are doing and maybe learn afew things.  I'm into beading but have a seamstress for a mother so I can sew and would love to get into that more.  I would love to get together with other crafty people in Toronto.  Keep me posted
182  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Pricing on different venues on: October 07, 2005 07:45:58 PM
I was think about the same thing.  My uncle wants to carry my stuff in his retail store on a consignment basis, so I was thinking that I would up the prices from the prices of my stuff on the website.  My products will have the web address each product, but I can't decide if people would be upset that they paid slightly more in the store then on the web?(through they would be saving on the S&H)
183  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Re: Christmas displays at craft fair on: September 28, 2005 07:02:25 PM
Everyone's tips are great I've done a couple summer shows and am going to be in my first Christmas show is November.  Is there any hints at what shoppers are looking for? I know the obvious (gifts) what I mean is is it worth making a bunch a christmassy things or stick with year around items? ( I hope this makes sense to people)

185  CANADA / Ontario / Craft supplies at the CNE on: August 30, 2005 02:13:16 PM
I was reading on another Craft board and many members have said that they got great beads, feather and fabric at the CNE in Toronto this year.  I'm heading there tomorrow so I'll let you know if I find these deals.  Apparently they are in the International shopping areas and they are at great prices!

187  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: Expenses; how can I lower them? on: August 15, 2005 04:50:56 PM
I have found that www.artbeads.com offer a good shipping rate of $1 US (I"m Canadian and they have honored this for my orders).  My order was well packaged and was exactely what it said it was on the site.
As for Bead Societies I know that there is one in Toronto but I haven't joined myself because there meetings are far from me, I know that they can be a great way to meet people and share ideas.  And if it gets you a discount then that's even better
188  CANADA / Ontario / Re: Toronto craft fair on: August 15, 2005 04:33:37 PM
I would love to be apart of this and meet other people who like to craft.  I'm the only one of my friends so it would be nice to meet others in the Toronto area and sell a couple of things as well Wink

Thanks Kathleen
