Not sure if this is the right place for this, if it is not... please let me know!!

I made this for Mother's Day for my mom a few years ago.

It is all hand stitched and the flowers are hand sewn fabric flowers.

23  some pieces throughout the years- pic heavy!! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by missiejean on: March 02, 2011 08:21:21 PM
I'm a new poster to this community, but wanted to share some of the things I have created!! C&C much appreciated!!!

My first "real" piece, splatter painting

This one, kind of happened by accident. I was making the square pattern and spilled my cup of water on it... so I was dabbing it dry with a piece of papertowel and a heart was formed in the yellow square!!
(sorry for the crappy picture, was taken a long time ago!)

This was made last Valentine's day for my hubby. It is a small splatter painting with a picture of us and I love you in 4 different languages

Made this for our bedroom

For the bedroom...

Again, for the bedroom!

Made these for my Star Swap partner!

And lastly... made this for my other partner in the Star Swap!

Sorry for all the pictures!! Still newish to the site and trying to get all of my stuff our there!!

Enjoy  Grin

24  Re: Show Off Your Hair--Dyed, Cut, or Styled by Yourself! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by missiejean on: January 13, 2011 11:19:27 AM
...So it took me about 4 hours but I read every one of these 179 pages of posts haha.

Now now thanks to all of the lovely hair cuts and dye jobs, I just told my husband I will be cutting and dying my hair tonight...

My hair is currently mousy brown, shoulder length with some long layers and slightly grown out Betty bangs (which I want slightly side swept...)

Me now(actually like 2 months ago, but nothing has changed color-wise, just longer hair::

Me want::

People say I look like a young Winona Ryder, thus I looked at pictures of her and love this cut... not sure if I should tackle myself. I cut my bangs myself before, but never like this...
Also, thinking about putting a purple color added into the bangs.

25  Re: Little Visitor Rd 13 (Signups: Jan 6-13; Sendouts: Jan 19) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by missiejean on: January 11, 2011 07:28:41 AM
I was unable to make it onto this swap... but I did want to share with you my little girl that I made last night for the next one!! Not sure if this is the final product, or if I will redo her, but this, thus far, is Harriet!! She is all hand sewn and made out of jeans(thus the fraying)

I am in the process of making her a few items of clothing... have a cute skirt done up already!!

27  First post/first attempt/first success!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by missiejean on: December 22, 2010 10:29:48 AM
I decided yesterday at work that I wanted to make a new dress to wear to my husbands families Christmas Eve party/dinner. I drew up a design and everything, but when I got home and layed out the fabric and clothing, it just did not look as good as I hoped.
So I grabbed my scissors and sat and thought for a few minutes and came up with the perfect dress. Looks like something you would buy in the store(at least I think so  Wink )

Here is what I did::

I started with a black shirt, a purple dress and some leopard print furry fabric
I put on the shirt and pinned where I wanted to leopard print waste band to go
Cut the shirt, front and back
Cut a 5 inch wide piece of the leopard print fabric that the length matched.
(did 5 inches because it needed to be cut in half the long way and stitched at the end to make one long piece)
Flipped the top of the shirt inside out, placed the leopard print fabric so when it would be turned right-side-out it would show  Wink
Pinned it all down and sewed it
Grabbed the purple dress, cut off the skirt and placed it on the leopard print part of the "new top"
Did a simple pleating for the whole front of the dress which made it so the whole back of the skirt would lay flat.
Hand stitched the pleats in place along the front
Machine sew along the pleats to secure and all along the back
And you're done!
Sorry I did not take step by step pictures, did not honestly think it would turn out!!

((Since this is my first post I can't put pictures in here, but here are the links!!))
