1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Striped Tank/Tube with Buttons and Tie straps :) MODIFIED! on: August 06, 2005 09:45:52 AM
First I made a tube top, and when I didn't like how it fit it was put away in the sewing box for a while.

Last night I brought it out and revamped it by adding a flirty (and shorter than the hem) back panel, some tie straps and cute greeeeeeeeen buttons.

what do you guys think Smiley

Sorry I look like im in a line up, they're for my portfolio and I didn't want my face/just out of the shower  hair in them

I added darts to make the bust more fitted:

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / VHS TABLE! on: July 28, 2005 09:23:30 PM
my friend Mike had some old VHS hanging around, so I came up with this for his new apartment! I'm jealous and totally want one of my own now.

We used:
Hot Glue/Hot Glue Gun
Floppy Disks (for leg supports)
Wood (to go under the VHS for the table top)
spray paint (to blacken the floppy disks)

Has anyone here has to submit a portfolio for school?

I am applying to get my Masters and I have never made a portfolio before, I Know what needs to be included but im not sure exactly what it needs to look like, organizational wise. I'm worried mine will come out looking too childish.

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Panda Crib Quilt for my new niece/nephew on: July 04, 2005 05:01:36 PM
My brother and his wife will be having their first child together (she already has a son who is 3, I made him a quilt that I posted in this forum also) in December. However, I am a very anxious and over zealous aunt to be and got a head start.

We won't know the baby's sex for 2 more months, and I was worried that they might wrongly guess the baby's sex from the sonograms (it happened to my mom with both my brother and I), so I stuck with a really cut neutral pattern

Here is the front:

The Back:

Fabric Detail:

I also made a changing pad so she doesn't have to lay the baby on those gross changing tables in stores without having something to go under it:

here it is rolled up!

Inspiration- My friend Mike and I are both nerds, and last night had some free time. We love literature and thought it would be a nice idea!

we took a hardcover book and gutted it

replaced the red paper.

pinned the glove down, cut off the fingers and made the anatomtical finger parts

stenciled the cover

labeled the parts

added the gold circles  Cheesy

here she is:

Mike with it upon completion, in it's display form
