1  Space Invaders Cross Stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by PancakeBatter on: December 30, 2010 01:51:47 AM
So this isn't the most original project I've ever made, but hey.

I cross stitched these cute little Space Invaders for the wall above my desk at work.

My coworkers got a kick out of them (I work for a software company).

They're in four-inch hoops - each one is finished with a different fabric on the back (naturally, I didn't get any pictures).

Thanks for looking!

2  Christmas Balls Cross Stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by PancakeBatter on: December 17, 2010 08:49:02 PM
So, I'm not really feeling the Christmas Spirit this year, and it's showing in my cross stitch...

Oh well. I covered the back with pretty fabric, so it can be flipped over.

I free-handed most of the design (as you expert stitcher's can no doubt tell!), but I've converted it into a chart since. If anyone would like to make one, the chart's on my blog: http://paperdoily.wordpress.com/2010/12/18/christmas-spirit/.

Thanks for looking!

3  Subversive Cross Stitch Candy Hearts Pattern - Possibly NSFW in Needlework: Completed Projects by PancakeBatter on: November 21, 2010 11:38:59 PM
I stitched this piece from the Subversive Stitching book. This design was the very first cross stitch I ever made... all of, oh, five months ago. I've come a long way in this time - this second version is prettier than the first.

It's for a Christmas present. In case my friend doesn't like it... I put some pretty fabric on the back so she can flip it over.

I almost prefer the back - the fabric's from a vintage table cloth (too stained to use, alas).

I've recently started making my own cross stitch patterns because I feel a little funny about using someone else's (don't ask me why - I don't know). This is still my favourite other people's design though. I also want to know if anyone else has made the same one?
