21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ugly Dress + Uglier PJs = Four Panels + Eight Godets on: May 18, 2005 04:13:17 PM
Okay, so I needed something to wear on Mother's Day with my cute pink vintage cardigan so my Mommy gave me her old denim, buttondown dress and I used some UGLY two piece pajamas to make this loverly skirt. I based it off of this tutorial: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=9466.0 ; but I was basing it off of what I remembered...
So I made four panels with only four godets, and it was ugly so I cut a slit in each panel and added another godet to make it swishy so I could be a princess Grin So ANYWAYS, here it is!

A full mirror shot, taken on Mother's Day. The back two panels are exactly the same, one with a pocket and one without.

A view with the t-shirt waistband.. Nevermind my tummy and messy room Roll Eyes

A closeup of the pajama fabric.. I like it much better as a skirt then pj's Smiley
22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Unraveling Sweaters on: April 28, 2005 06:55:25 PM
Okay, so today I was bored and going through my mom's closet. We were talking about yarn and sweaters... and I pulled out this ugly blue sweater she never wears. I took it (with permission of course) and set out to unravel it.
With scissors, a comfy chair and a sweater unraveling tutorial (http://www.neauveau.com/recycledyarn.html) in hand, I set out. It was scary at first but it's too mcuh fun!!
I'm sure you guys have all done this before, but I was just too excited to find a new yarn related fun thing... So now I have three balls of pretty thick blue cotton yarn <3 What's a girl to make? Grin
23  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Funny Pink Bunny :D on: April 21, 2005 04:06:01 PM
After much wrestling with the metal octopus known as my DPNs Grin I finished my little NEON pink bunny!
He's a tad on the "special" side, but I love him a ton Cheesy
I used this pattern: http://www.jesshutch.com/bunny.html

The front view.. he's about 8 inches high, to the tip of his ears Cheesy

A close up of his face... it homemade looking Grin LOL

And from the side, so you can see his pom-pom tail I added Grin
24  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / My best friend is moving... on: April 17, 2005 01:18:15 PM
Okay.. my best friend Bekah is moving away this summer and I need to think of something great for her as a going away gift. I have a ton of pictures of us and I can knit, crochet, sew, etc... LOL..
Got any brilliant ideas up your sleeves?
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Capelet/Wrap/Scrap Yarn Thing on: March 31, 2005 03:09:54 PM
Okay, I made this today with my "magic" ball of scrap yarn... does it look okay? I can't get a totally honest opinion from my family. They always tell me they like it, no matter what... lol

Here it is, my lovely carpet modeling it..

Here's what I plan on wearing it with... sorry it's not the best pic  Tongue

A closer look at the yarns, and how I'm wearing it.

What do ya think??
26  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / FOs: Baby Blanket & Scrap Scarf on: March 28, 2005 05:15:36 PM
Here's a baby blanket I made for a baby shower I'm going to..

It's not really that lopsided, I just layed it down weird  Grin

Here's a better view of the colorway.. it's MUCH prettier in person and oh so soft  Smiley

I used this pattern:

Here's a scarf I made a while ago.. I was inspired by a friend's bought scarf, so I knit this up Smiley

Ignore the unmatching/stillinmypajamas girl modeling the scarf Wink

A better look at all the stripes

I just used all the different types of yarn I have around... it took me a while, even though it's just stockinette stitch, because I had to get so many different types of yarn  Grin I tried not to use the same yarn twice (but I did anyway.. lol)
27  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Polka Dot Purse on: March 28, 2005 05:07:00 PM
I made this awhile ago out of this HORRID dress my grandma gave me... I also made a skirt but that's another post later Wink

It has a squared off bottom and no interfacing, so it's floppy Smiley

Here's the bright lining and velcro closure (which was a pain to sew... don't know why I did it by hand..)
28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Troll Skirt on: March 28, 2005 05:03:09 PM
I made this out of some troll sheets I had when I was about five...
Sorry they aren't the best pics, it's hard to take a picture of your legs  Grin

It's an a-line with a pink waistband/sash that ties.. hence the pink strips hanging on the side  Wink

Here's a close-up of the fabric

I always get either "Aw, I love trolls!!" or "Trolls? Those things scared me half to death..." when I wear this skirt.. hahaha  Grin
29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tiny Tank = Cute Little Dress on: February 26, 2005 07:56:01 AM
My little sister had this tiny tank on with a mini skirt and gogo boots... and it was raining outside. So I stole the tiny tank, found some fabric and sewed up this cute dress for a princess party she's going too.
