We took Lilya to New Salem today.  Not a lot of "period" people around yet, still too cold and hasn't reached tourist season, but we saw some cool buildings, including the First Berry-Lincoln Store.  Hoping to go geocaching soon, but the weather has been really rainy so the few spots anywhere near here are way too muddy.

Around here kids do a lot of the Flat Stanleys.  Where they send a paper doll to other parts of the country and they get shown landmarks and taken places...so when people look at me (or when I ask them to pose with Lilya...which I do often just for fun), I just say, "It's like Flat Stanley...but with stuffed animals."  Ah...nuff said (:

Hehehe, my husband just looked over my shoulder at your pic and said with big eyes, "Oh my god.  Copy down that recipe.  Copy down that recipe nowww."  And because you are awesome and provided it, I can. Cheesy  Thank you!  (I've got to agree with the manthing, these look pretty intensely delicious)

Now that is just awesome!  I can't say enough good about this.  The pre-spring advent is such a great idea.  But I love that you don't just have a bunch of identical pockets, the rings and different shapes/sizes makes it so interested and something to use all the time.  Nicely done!

I am a chocolate lover.  Not sure how I came by it as my parents aren't fans, but my son has inherited by obsession with it.  So it was only fitting that when I found this recipe that involved chocolate, we had a mother/son bake session.

I did change a couple things after eating it.  I found that the graham part of the batter didn't have enough flavor, so in remaking, I would try to add more.  For now, I just topped the cupcakes with graham cracker crumbs.

Also, my marshmallows baked up and out of the cupcakes more than in the recipe, which wasn't a big deal, but as marshmallows deflated when they come out of the oven, my cupcake sunk a little.  For the better because I filled my little "dip" with some marshmallow creme for more flavor.

They were yummy (but I could eat almost anything if it was chocolate covered, so I'm a little bias)!  Definitely recommend trying the recipe, though.  Grin

Wow yea...it totally looks like you had planned to craft these from the beginning.  How pretty one little accident can end up being!

Aweeeesome.  My mom would LOVE that, she's a big JD/MH fan.  Even bought the poster to put in her front glass door (until after about 10 months, my dad insisted it be taken down haha).

Very nice job!!

That is beautiful...but even the thought of figuring out how to make it (mathematically, I mean, seeing as how this is the one project we never did in school) nearly made my head smoke lol.  Nicely done.

WELLLL...the isolated thunderstorm forecast turned into heavy rain and some hail all morning, leaving everything wet and muddy this afternoon, so there was much for running around.  However, we did make it down to the Rescue Squad Soup and Chili Lunch.  Lilya got to sit in one of the big squad trucks, and the boat and hang with some super cool Squad guys (Connor's dad was a squad member before he passed away last year, so we are good friends with all of them).
