1  Bows and Arrows stole -- my biggest project ever! in Crochet: Completed Projects by lauriemk on: May 11, 2006 06:57:46 PM
So until I made this Bows and Arrows stole for the Ongoing Stuff I Can Make swap, I had only completed a scarf, a hat, and a sock.  I am so proud I finished this I wanted to share it here too.

The pattern is here: http://bythehook.blogdrive.com/archive/166.html and I used Lion Brand microspun in black.  I didn't use as much as the pattern called for, although the wrap did measure a tad shorter than the pattern said when it was done.  I found the pattern really easy to follow, so much so that after the first completion of it I didn't need to look anymore.

So, if you are a pretty new crocheter, get out there and tackle something that seems crazy! Without the swap I wouldn't have tried anything like this, and now I am happy I did it.

racehorse87 said she received her shawl from me today, so here it is:

it was kind of psycho to get it done as fast as I did as it was only my 4th real crochet project, but Beth was really good about bearing with me.  Also, it greatly increased my crochet speed!

Hey, gerbilonwheels!  Glad you got the shirt, but so sorry it ripped already!  I am afraid the transfers are not made to be stretched, or maybe the shirt was too stretchy? If it seems like it is peeling off you can put some parchment paper down over the design and iron it again.   I love the Target t-shirts as well.  To be honest, the biggest problem I had with this was finding a white t-shirt.  Nearly every one I came across in a store was dirty.  ick.

Anyway, here are some pictures.

5  Re: Transfer Using Goo Gone and Photocopies??? in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions by lauriemk on: March 13, 2006 10:25:58 AM
At long last I got a digital camera, so here are some pictures of a shirt I made awhile ago with a laser printer picture and Citra-Solv.

It is about a year old, and has faded a bit, but not too badly.

7  Re: Crochet Olympics Finished Projects in Crochet: Completed Projects by lauriemk on: February 27, 2006 09:18:07 AM
Well, I planned to make a pair of socks and an amigurumi.  I should have known that was a leetle ambitious for me, as I only had 2 FO's to my name before the Olympics.  However, in the nick of time, I did finish one sock!  I am very proud of it as it was the most complex thing I have made so far.  It is this (http://www.crochetme.com/issue_1/socks_in_shoes.html)pattern from Crochet Me.

I will be starting on its mate tonight.  Here is the famous Olympic sock....

8  First crocheted hat and scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by lauriemk on: February 24, 2006 01:17:10 PM
Hey!  I finally got a digital camera, so here are pictures of my first two crocheted FO's!

Scarf I made for the bf (the cats refused to get out of the picture):

Hat from the Addison Hat pattern.  After working so hard on the scarf for the bf I wanted something for myself.  It took me two of the days after Christmas, which were spent sitting around the bf's grandparents' so I had a lot of time for crocheting!

9  Re: Unconditional Swapper Swap - OCTOBER (gallery) in The Swap Gallery by lauriemk on: October 28, 2005 01:14:02 PM
Just wanted to show off the earings I made Annim, now that she has received them (I couldn't convince the post office Estonia was a country, so I was worried).  They are my first ever earrings, and now I am addicted to jewelry making.

10  simple shell necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by lauriemk on: October 13, 2005 05:14:01 PM
I almost didn't post this because it is so simple.  However, I am very proud of it as I always pick up shells on the beach, planning to make them into things and this is the first one I have ever completed.  It's a shell attached to a cord with a jump ring.  Luckily the shell came with a hole when I found it, so less work for me!
