11  Re: Wall Art 3 Gallery in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by spirals420 on: February 23, 2011 01:20:03 PM
SO my partner has been pretty sick this past month and I am pretty sure she should have received by now.... so I am going to post photos...
This was the first item I did... I am just figuring out this whole painting thing... right now I just like to smash colors together...  This painting is on that hard canvas board and it is acrylic and sharpie (all hail the all mighty sharpie!!)

16x20 So a pretty decent size!
This next one I pictured it in my head one night while falling asleep... A dark dark background using purple, blue and black... deep and dark "underwater" and then using BRIGHT EFFIN PINK! spray paint I imagined a "jellyfish" kind of thing floating along... I concentrated the spray of the paint to the one section and then tilted it to let it run down the canvas making the squiggly feeler things (what the heck are they called?!)

9x12 i think this one is...
Hopefully kitkat_pro is ok!!!  sending out the love. hopefully the paintings were a little bit of cheer...

sure had a great time with this swap... just what i needed!!

YEA! what a great pick-me-up i got today!  my art arrived from kitkat_pro!

its extremely beautiful...

LOVE the grey tones in the hair.
There was also a lovely poem included.

So thoughtful and well executed!

I am currently (mostly) homeless (just kinda crashing with friends) so when i do get my home it will have a place of honour with all my other collected goodies...

thank you so much!

13  Re: Show Off Your Hair--Dyed, Cut, or Styled by Yourself! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by spirals420 on: July 28, 2010 08:10:13 PM
well after taking a year off of dyeing my hair... IM BACK BABY!

SHOCKING blue Manic Panic and.. PURPLE (i forget the name but im sure its something awesome) Manic Panic. have used them before and LOVE them both!

this time instead of doing my whole head i did a big chunk at the front and then dyed the individual dreadies that i have started.... as well as little bits and pieces that found their way in while doing it. turned out AWESOME!  so stoked to be back in the game!

19  Knit Hippie Hoodie for ME! in Knitting: Completed Projects by spirals420 on: May 11, 2009 06:55:13 PM
Finally I knit something for myself!  and i LOVE it

Patons Classic Merino Wool
Noro Kureyon
Top Down Raglan http://www.knittingfool.com/pages/topdown.guest.cfm
it took one month. could have been less but i got to dog sit and they need alot of attention!!  i was glad to give the attention though. no complaints!

These pictures were taken while hanging out on those rocks, more for the surroundings with a small bit of it being for the hoodie.

front has a pouch and the sleeves, hood and bottom is all hemmed

The back has a fun patch that i bought forever ago and never got around to using. it works wonderfully on the sweater!

Thumb hole and you can see the hem poking through

and for those who want to look...
close up of the pouch i knitted onto the sweater. the only seaming/sewing i did on the sweater was all the hemming and the top of the pouch.
i have never really done this before so i was learning as i go so one of the sides isnt as pretty. i couldnt figure out how to neatly knit the stitches together...
oh and it is evenly sewn across just laying crooked!  i swear!

And this is a picture of the neck/start of hood shaping. i dont know if you can tell from the pics but the hood has a longer neck part. dont really know what it is called. anyways. the shaping is nice.

thanks for looking!  ask any questions if you got em!
