1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Text for Jam jar favor labels on: July 11, 2007 11:55:06 AM
So we are making jam for favors. I'm going to order labels but I can't think of something cute to put on them. Any ideas more than just our names or the date?  Huh
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / what do you think of this for a centerpiece? on: June 13, 2007 03:58:21 PM
Hi all,
still working on wedding planning. I've been thinking about what to do on the tables.
What do you think of this pic? I found it on the knot specialty bios

I'm going to sprinkle some orchid buds around there (they hold up really well without water).  The picture looks like maybe 8 votives. What do you think of that amount?

Do you think it will look okay even though there's not one big focal point on the table?
I'm having a hard time picturing this. I may need to try it out.

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Creative seating ideas? on: May 09, 2007 08:35:53 AM
I need help!
We originally planned on having a very small wedding and booked a gazebo at our local park. Now we have a guest list of over 200 people... (we're still working on that) and I have no seating out there.

Here's a pic:

We can rent chairs from the local parks & Rec but it's $4 per chair which adds up very quickly!

We still prefer having a brief ceremony. I think around 100 to 150 people will show up for the reception.. I'm hoping less for the ceremony.... but still it would be nice to have seating for at least our grandmothers right?  Huh

My head hurts..
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for pattern of chunky cabled shrug on: September 09, 2006 11:45:27 PM

Okay I found it. It was Blackberry from knitty incase anyone was interested.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitty's Swell! on: September 07, 2006 07:52:00 PM
I've been promising my friend a hat forever but when I saw this pattern I dropped everything and went and bought the yarn..

I used cascade 220 as called for but the same brown wasn't available at my local yarn shop so I went with another... 9475 I think. I like this color better though!

The pattern also called for two rows of purl I knitted it and didn't like it so I backed it up and just did one row of single rib... it still curled up and I had to steam it out in the end but it came out fine.

Ignore the ugly cracked wall in the background and my dorky bangs. Tongue

As you can tell from the pic I started out knitting tightly and loosened WAY up when I got to the waves because my first attempt came out tiny... oh well live and learn! And i made a nice mistake on a wave in front.

and here's a close up of the waves..

Okay so this is my first post with pics (just got a digital camera!) and my first real project with this type of color work (what's it called?)so be nice!

Yes I know I look 15... but I really am 21! boo I hate pictures of me
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need Patriotic Project suggestions on: August 26, 2006 08:20:57 AM
My brother is going to basic training to be in the army... I don't entirely agree with this decision but I want him to know I support him anyway, so I'd like to knit something patriotic... any suggestions?
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need help with Molly's head band! on: August 22, 2006 08:52:32 AM
Okay this is my first time knitting from a chart...  It says to yarn over followed by this:

sl 2 sts as if to k2tog, k1, pass two slipped sts over

followed by another yarn over...

I'm so confused by this... it must some sort of decrease because there are 4 yos in this row and it's supposed to only increase by 2 sts

If my description does not make sense here's the link
scroll down and click on staff projects: sweet somethings

my confusion is with row 7. Any help would be fantastic!

No one has much money this year so we are trying to keep christmas small. I say hooray for that! I'd like to make or get something sentimental for my mom and stepdad, dad, boyfriend and grandma.  what are some creative sentimental gifts you have given or recieved?  ( anything crafty is great!)  I don't have time to knit something for everyone of them or I would.  Next year I will start knitting projects in July!
