1  Re: Love your wedding? Then show off your photos here! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by DIYdani on: August 18, 2007 06:03:56 AM
Here's a few from my wedding on August 3rd

In the gazebo where we were married

With our bridesmaids and groomsmen. Yeah I had 6 and he had 3. I had my bridesmaids hold fans instead of bouquets.

Kissing under the flower ball I made.. I used flowers from Michaels and spent way too much on it. You can kind of see how my dress criss-crosses in the back. I love it!

Cutting our awesome cake a friend of the family made. It had white chocolate filling. It was so good!

2  what do you think of this for a centerpiece? in Weddings and Bridal Showers by DIYdani on: June 13, 2007 03:58:21 PM
Hi all,
still working on wedding planning. I've been thinking about what to do on the tables.
What do you think of this pic? I found it on the knot specialty bios

I'm going to sprinkle some orchid buds around there (they hold up really well without water).  The picture looks like maybe 8 votives. What do you think of that amount?

Do you think it will look okay even though there's not one big focal point on the table?
I'm having a hard time picturing this. I may need to try it out.

3  Re: Wedding in 3 months and no colors yet.. help! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by DIYdani on: May 17, 2007 01:24:22 PM
Okay so I sort of decided on a color scheme... I found this website:

They ship dresses in 6 weeks. I'm pretty sure I'm choosing the color baby blue in the georgette fabric. They are sending me swatches of material.  The bridesmaids can choose their own style of dress and the price is fairly reasonable.

I'm going to craft a pomander to hang from the gazebo with the help of the tute I've seen on here. something like this:

I'll do some white flowers, but I also might have pink peonies if I can afford them. I met an amazing florist whose working with my budget. And peonies are my absolute dream flower. (although I do agree my dress would look great with calla lillies)

That's all the I have so far... I gotta get some basics out of the way and I'll start posting in the craft-along.
Thanks all your help!

5  Creative seating ideas? in Weddings and Bridal Showers by DIYdani on: May 09, 2007 08:35:53 AM
I need help!
We originally planned on having a very small wedding and booked a gazebo at our local park. Now we have a guest list of over 200 people... (we're still working on that) and I have no seating out there.

Here's a pic:

We can rent chairs from the local parks & Rec but it's $4 per chair which adds up very quickly!

We still prefer having a brief ceremony. I think around 100 to 150 people will show up for the reception.. I'm hoping less for the ceremony.... but still it would be nice to have seating for at least our grandmothers right?  Huh

My head hurts..

Okay here's my pics

It came out bit too long for liking but it's not bad. I'd like to try again in another color.  Excuse the crappy self-pics!

7  Knitty's Swell! in Knitting: Completed Projects by DIYdani on: September 07, 2006 07:52:00 PM
I've been promising my friend a hat forever but when I saw this pattern I dropped everything and went and bought the yarn..

I used cascade 220 as called for but the same brown wasn't available at my local yarn shop so I went with another... 9475 I think. I like this color better though!

The pattern also called for two rows of purl I knitted it and didn't like it so I backed it up and just did one row of single rib... it still curled up and I had to steam it out in the end but it came out fine.

Ignore the ugly cracked wall in the background and my dorky bangs. Tongue

As you can tell from the pic I started out knitting tightly and loosened WAY up when I got to the waves because my first attempt came out tiny... oh well live and learn! And i made a nice mistake on a wave in front.

and here's a close up of the waves..

Okay so this is my first post with pics (just got a digital camera!) and my first real project with this type of color work (what's it called?)so be nice!

Yes I know I look 15... but I really am 21! boo I hate pictures of me
