31  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap Gallery--January 2011 in The Swap Gallery by jessiben on: January 23, 2011 03:39:21 PM
Unfortunately I can't take credit for the simplicity of the design lol. As I said when I claimed you for Jane Austen, I just finished Emma which was a Christmas gift. (I'm going through a list of the 100 greatest novels and my mom bought me a few I hadn't gotten to yet)

Here is the card next to my book.

I received my last two cards today. The first was from calluna for my red and gold theme that I now have two lovely cards for thanks to this swap.

The beeswax technique is new to me. I love how it feels.

The second is from thenutmeg2000 for french script. What a beautiful quote! The translation is on the back, it reads "I am not afraid. I was born to do this" -Joan of Arc

I received the cutest owl-themed card from WideEyedLife today! I'm in love with it. And it's made from materials gathered in different swaps so its a true Swap card. Smiley

Thanks a bunch!

And to show you all the family participation that this swap has evoked...Here is a pic of my little sister looking at my binder of card. Smiley

Well SonjaBoo you joined just in time because I just received your card today. Smiley

This is the first card I've ever received for my deep red/gold theme and I'm so in love with it. I used to have my room done in these colors before I had to move...(and repaint it a boring white to sell the house). Thanks so much!

Is it weird that I'm kind of bummed that there's no mail on Christmas? I think I'd rather get letters than presents since I know what most of mine are.  Smiley

But I received an ATC today from mxer145. My owl collection is really coming along nicely! Spanks!

36  Dirty Old Men ATCs (Slightly NWS for text, not pictures) in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by jessiben on: December 20, 2010 08:08:49 PM
So I've been on an ATC obssession lately...making way to many to post here, but you can always check out my ATCsforall gallery if you want. Smiley

However, these I had to post....I'm sort of ashamed to say that I am having far too much with these and they are making myself crack up. I plan to make many more.
So the concept behind these is this...you know how you can't (or don't want to) imagine your parents or grandparents "doing it"? Well what about all those stuffy Victorians....yeah ok, maybe I just have a dirty mind.  Wink

I've even given them names. This one is Maurice.

and Alfred...

They are made from real pictures I bought from an Antique store. At first I had a horrible time getting myself to cut them up but I convinced myself I was saving them from the obscurity of the back room of an shop in South Texas...and I also scanned them before I did cut so I have them forever. Smiley

Enjoy. Hope you get a giggle out of them.

I received a card today! Actually today was a big mail day but only one from this swap. Smiley Yet, it's my favorite thing I got!

Here is my Steampunk themed card from Alchamy513.

So pretty! I am drooling over the little cogs and the key. I want to rip off the key and wear it....but of course I would never do that!

I received my first card today! Susanab claimed me for Broadway musicals and took the hint about my current production being Oliver!  Cheesy

So here is my Oliver! card. Thanks so much! Its going to be a great reminder of a fabulous show and it came just at the right time too. The show closed on Saturday and I've been thinking how sad I am because I'll be bored this weekend!

40  Bookmarks/Contact Cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by jessiben on: November 03, 2010 11:32:57 AM
I recently started as a high-school age youth sponser at my church and I wanted to give my girls my contact information as well as a little gift. I decided combining the two with these bookmarks that I made ostentacious enough so that they wouldn't be lost the first night!

This is my first project post so I hope you enjoy.

I don't have a picture of the backs but they were simple with a Bible reference and my contact info.
