11  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: how many hats can you knit 2016 on: February 25, 2016 12:09:40 AM
Okay, here's what i have photographed.

Go Cougs for my brother's girlfriend.

Duke Silver, my latest Parks & Rec-themed hat. It even has saxophones around the back.

Improvised diamond design.

Packers Sideline Beanie.

My brother's friend recently took over a local children's theater, and she asked me to make them some hats. It's called Neverland Theater, and their logo is Peter Pan flying with a big crescent moon.

Originally wanted this for myself, but it's a little too small, and perfect for my nephew. It's the rebel alliance starbird from Star Wars, and i used duplicate stitch.

Tacoma used to have a soccer team, years ago, and they came back last year! It's pretty exciting. They're called the Tacoma Stars, and i'm really happy that they're sticking with the original colors and logo, and everything.

I'm still not confident enough in my pattern-writing abilities to publish this pattern, so instead i just keep knitting them myself. I think i've knit 3 so far this year, but i still need better photos.

My cousin just had a baby named Spencer.

Newest design. Still trying to name it. And write the pattern for other people. The first 2 are slouchy, the second 2 are snug beanies.

I hear that! Knitting without a plan can be so fun, but then it can be so frustrating sometimes. I like all the cabling you're doing.

16 pages already?? Man, i've been away too long. I'm living at my sister's right now, and space is pretty tight, so i definitely need to destash a ton. Mainly, i need to get rid of hats and other things i've made which don't seem to move at the craft fairs... (I plan on donating soon, i just have to actually do it.) Anyway, i brought as much of my yarn as i could, and the rest is in storage, so it's time to use up those leftovers and make some room to bring the rest back out.

Unfortunately, i wasn't able to bring the sewing machine, so that and all of my fabric are also waiting for me.

I've been making a yarn ball out of my bits for a while now. The ball is getting pretty big, but most of the bits are still just stuffed in a bag. It's amazing seeing how much yarn would normally just be tossed... I mean it. A LOT of yarn gets thrown away because the pieces are too small. But the yarn is still good, you know what i mean? I've always had a hard time throwing leftover bits and pieces of anything away. I still find pieces of fabric, cool paper, yarn, etc. in boxes of stuff from my childhood because they were too pretty for kid me to possibly part with... So now, adult me has to be the jerk who throws away what's left of my favorite childhood craft things.

I think i'll pull out the leftover ball today and put some more work into it.
My mom and i got some fleece during a sale last year. I made a couple baby blankets right away, but there's still a bunch left. I need to get those done.

audio - i can't wait to see your t-shirt blanket! I want to make one someday!

TheMistressT - your calendar gift boxes just brought back so many memories. My sister was walking by as i was looking, and she smiled. We used to make those ALL THE TIME with my mom and aunt!

bushbaby - your shawl is lovely!

gala - love the sleeves on your purple/teal shirt. Super cool!
