2  Gothic hat in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by nopocky4kitty on: October 22, 2010 02:37:02 AM
This is a hat I made for a solo performance at the school I teach at's culture festival.  Though I bombed the singing part, I got compliments on my hat and outfit lol.

This hat is made out of a gray fake flower, black zipper, black ribbon and black organza set on a thin hair band.

4  Silver, Fun and Motion in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by nopocky4kitty on: October 09, 2010 07:44:43 PM
Arg hate my crappy camera and I apologize for the blurry pic.

This is a pin brooch I made out of two layers of sterling silver sheets.  The black parts are oxidized.  It is supposed to be an angel with skeletal wings.  Overall I think it came out quite pretty.

This ring is made out of sterling silver as well.  Since I made it a while back it got a little oxidized but I quite like it that way.  The concept was fun and motion.  The band was the hardest part to make as it has two layers and etchings in the middle.  I then sodered (not sure if I spelled that right) some thick silver cord to act as a pole and then place two silver squares on some tubing onto it and then capped it with a small chiseled square.  The two squares "spin" around as your hand moves.  It's a bit high and thus can be dangerous but I love it all the same.

5  Cute Punky Bracelets in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by nopocky4kitty on: October 09, 2010 05:12:11 PM
So after making a bunch of hair bands, I thought I'd get into making bracelets and this is what I came up with ^_^

This is a very rocker/punk style cuff bracelet made out of black leather, a white zipper, a bunch of twining white crochet yarn that entwine through...not sure what to call them...those circular hole stud thingies.  The inside is lined with yellow flannel fabric.  Overall I like it quite a bit.

This was my first attempt at making a cuff bracelet and it is made out of felt that I have sewed into tubes.  To accent it I crocheted small bands randomly as well as for the ends; the fasteners being braids and buttons.  As for the decorative piece, it is made out of a red zipper, crocheted circle and a metal fastener thingie.  I thought it came out pretty well and gave it to a friend as a present ^_^

6  Cute and quirky Fabric etc. accessories in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by nopocky4kitty on: October 09, 2010 05:06:19 PM
So I went on a bit of a hair band frenzy after going on a short trip to Korea and buying these two nifty hair bands made out of zippers and various charms.  I thought I'd share these with you guys and see what you think of them ^_^

This one is pretty simple and made out of various buttons with a white zipper bordering the sides.  The fastner can actually move around, though there's no real point to it except as a style point.

This hair band is one of my favorites.  It has a very cute, yet edgy vibe to it.  It is made out of two different color zippers that create the outline, crocheted pink flowers, a wooden bear shaped button, yellow fabric and black lace underneath, red zipper stripes, and a fabric mushroom print that I painted the words "Que Sera Sera" on it.

This hair band has more of a darker feel.  It is made out of black ribbon, steal buttons, yellow flannel, two different color zippers to create the outline, thick beige lace and a picture by artist "Aki".

This is the same as my cat brooch only I made it for a hair band as well.

This one turned out to have a unique shape and design.  I got some beige cotton gauze-like fabric and twisted it around to form half a circle and the other half is thick white yarn loosely wound.  The bottom part is white lace and the top and bottom has bits of black and blue ribbon.  The middle is adorned with a wooden button and various other buttons and charms.  Overall I think it is a very cutesy sort of look.

This hair band is also featured in my cat themed accessories post.  It is made entirely of zippers and buttons.

This hair band to me ha sa bit of a retro feel with its burst of colors and print.  I rather quite like it.

Broach or hair accessory made out of a fabric yo-yo, strips of fabric, computer key, copper leaf, buttons, strips of fabric and a potpourri berry thingie that I hardened with sealant.

Cute broach made out of a fabric yo-yo, kanzashi flower, Home key and some blue green pom-pom lace.

Cute bunny broach.

Pendants made out of Japanese Pucho candy wrappers reinforced with vinyl and filled with clay.

So, what do you think? Comments are always welcome.

7  Cat Crazy in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by nopocky4kitty on: October 09, 2010 04:55:46 PM
So I'm a cat fanatic and ended up making all these cat related jewelry!  Because this is only my second post since joining this wonderful community, you'll have to visit the links to see what I'm talking about ^_^

This piece was inspired by an artwork by Japanese modern artist Yoshitomo Nara.  I tried to reproduce the drawing on a bottle cap, but it turned out to be an original work since it's so unrecognizable haha.  The materials used are just various fabrics I bought and shredded to create this design.  The lace part has bolts and fake pearls.  Overall I think it turned out very punkish and I like it a lot.

This cat brooch is somewhat simple and made out of leather, part of a zipper, light pink chiffon-like fabric, chains, and studs.  Simple, yet edgy ^_^

This cat-shaped brooch was inspired from too many drinking nights haha!  It's made out of black leather, a Sapporo beer bottle cap, a blue plastic rose bead, and chains.  I've made it into a brooch, but it can be worn as a pendant.

This one was made for a friend as a farewell present.  He loves Happy Tree Friends so I added a picture there and glued it in between pieces of plastic for durability.  The cat itself is made out of blue fabric and bordered with zippers.  The ears are yellow flannel and small buttons, the eyes are crocheted with a small green button on it or lined with brown lace and the happy tree friend picture.  The chain is just to give it an edgy feel and connects to the zipper going along the outside border.

This hair band turned out to be the favorite of my friends from when I showed them my initial design sketches.  It's quite simple and made entirely out of three zippers of varying colors and styles.  I've added the big black button, tiny buttons and zipper fastener to give it a bit more variety.

Broach made out of 3 fabric yo-yos, zipper, lace, shift key and cat button.

Broach made out of a fabric rossette, yo-yos, cat button, zipper, pearl, and a felt cat with a fastener for its tail and beads for its eyes and paws.

Bandit tech cat made out of fabric, buttons, beads, esc key and a burned out memory chip.

Cat made out of a yo-yo, Sapporo beer cap, organza, and some stitching.

Not a cat but cute nevertheless ^_^

So what do you guys think?

8  Ninja Cats Rug in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by nopocky4kitty on: October 09, 2010 04:43:34 PM
I made a rug made out of felt and thin carpeting on the bottom.  You can see the picture via this link here.

There are nine separate square rugs that are connected by buttons and yarn and are thus detachable and can stand alone.  The designs are that of three ninja cats with differing weapons and one princess cats.  The rest are just plain square sized rugs in various felt colors.

I made this rug just so I can match it with the two cute floor chairs I found at a store called Loft in Japan ^_^

What do you think?
