1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / what kind of material to make tennis skirt? on: August 31, 2006 01:04:44 PM
i am in no way familiar with sewing, but i was thinking about giving it a shot in making a tennis skirt. I was just wondering what sort of material is good for sweating and what they usually use--most of the skirts in stores are really expensive and it's kind of a pain to spend 50 bucks for one. :-D
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: my first journal made with korean traditional paper on: June 17, 2006 05:02:47 PM
i love looking at a book that's so clean cut and...it's so pretty with the paper :-D
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Change long shirt into tunic with scrunch/tie in the middle? on: March 25, 2006 01:20:37 PM
I went to the thrift shop today and got this really cool purple, green, and blue tie dyed shirt with bleached flowers and palm trees on it that is really long and baggy. I want to do that thing where in the middle it scrunches when you pull the strings and in the end i hope will create more figure than just a straight long tunic that will seem really big and..blah.

It's probably relatively easy but i'm just...challenged, (i'm not really experienced, i just sort of dive in and get confused,) so--if you have any idea, please reply.

Thank you  Grin
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / What should I do with magazine clippings? on: March 24, 2006 02:18:03 PM
I've been busy cutting out random images (or just ones i think are pretty) and words but i have no idea what i want to do with them. I was thinking about some crazy collage of some sort, but what to focus on--and what would be the point?

"Here's a big square of posterboard with a bunch of magazine cut outs on it. Happy Birthday."

Any ideas of maybe a practical-- but fun--gift?

Thank you  Grin

It looks really professional!  Smiley I like the spacing of the pleats too.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Question about that resizing jeans tutorial on: June 20, 2005 12:08:28 PM
I'm a little confused on the last part of that resizing the jeans tutorial, where you rip up the 5 inch part of the side seam and tuck the extra jean waist into it.

If someone can explain to me exactly how you tuck it in and how you sew it back up--that'd be great. I might sound like an idiot, but it's just not clicking.

how did u do the scrunching in the midddllleee? i really wanna do that with a t-shirt/dress--my plan was to sew a long rectangle of fabric in the middle, put a tie through it, and have holes coming out of the end of fabric to tie it? is that sort of like what you did?
