115  flannel pajama shorts in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by aprettymess on: December 26, 2010 06:03:22 PM
i made my very first clothing item: flannel pajama shorts
unfortunately they cameout a bit too small... by a bit i mean they fit like a bathing suit lol. so i plan on getting some coordinating flannel to add to the sides so i can wear them and breathe haha any ideas on other ways for improvement?  Wink p.s. sorry for the crummy cell phone pic. not sure where i put my camera after christmas

*UPDATE* i added extra flannel to the sides and top then completed the hemming and put some elastic. now they fit soooo comfy!

i am leaving  the original pic up so you can see how i had to alter them... criticism welcome. i am learning and dont mind  Grin

118  reversible tote bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by aprettymess on: December 18, 2010 09:50:55 AM
i made a few totes for my friends for christmas. they were kind of hard to photograph showing detail. they have a pocket inside and outside of the bag. they are a very simple design as i am still figuring out this game of sewing. i am pretty proud of myself though...
one side is red with colorful stars

the other side is white with polka dots and cherries

and heres a shot trying to show the reversible quality...

i also made a "bible bag" for one of my uncles for christmas.

i even sold one to a girl at work (but havent made it yet)  Grin

119  my bright new curtains in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by aprettymess on: December 18, 2010 09:30:06 AM

Here are my new curtains. They were my first project about 3 months ago. They are more fashion than function (i was still learning about lining)
i was tired of the dusty old lacy ones i had and when i took them down to wash them i never put them back up, i just sifted through the fabric i have accumulated and took to my machine  Grin
