21  Chibi Lassiter plush v2 (Now lives with Tim Omundson) ^_^ in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Nyxika on: October 16, 2010 09:46:28 PM
Update: Lassie now lives with Tim Omundson & Family. Scroll down to see pics.  Cheesy Cheesy

I finally finished Lassiter v2 to go with Shawn v2!  So much frustration trying to get his jacket right - I made six jackets in total. I haaaate suiting material, never using it again, lol.

Anyway, I am so incredibly proud of how he came out (much cuter than version 1 I think). I keep learning things as I make new plushies that I keep going "doh, why didn't I think of doing that before?!" hee. I am well and truly addicted to sewing now, so I'll probably be posting here a lot, I hope I don't annoy too many people.  Cheesy

...and now the Psych plushies are done It's time to start Sherlock ones!  Wink

22  "Psych" plushies in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Nyxika on: October 10, 2010 07:00:16 AM
I recently discovered craftster (I've been living under a rock, apparently) and having seen all these amazing creations you all do, I thought I would toddle on over to the sandpit and play too!!

Anyone here a fan of delicious flavour the USA network show Psych? I am a HUGE fan and after spending more than I'd care to really admit at the official Psych store (what, I totally needed that keyring, cup, pen, t-shirts and the entire series on dvd...!!) I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have any squishable merchandise (the bobbleheads don't count!) so I set about making my own.

Shawn (version 1) was the first plushie I've ever made - drafting the pattern took about a month to get to the current stage, it probably would have been easier if I'd known anything about sewing, lol! He is completely hand-sewn. I refer to them as my 'chubbi-chibi' plushies because they have quite large bodies and flimsy little legs, lol. They are sitting-only plushies (or standing-only-only-when-propped-against-something plushies. Wink)

I use materials as close in colour and texture as I can when it comes to their outfits, which is sometimes hard, especially not having much (any!) knowledge of working with fabrics like suiting material (arggghh!).
Sorry, babbling! On to the stuffed goodies!

ETA; I've lost the pics of Shawn v1, Lassie v1 and Gus, but I still have Shawn v2 and Lassie v2:
