2  Newbie Jordy with zipper attempt ... finally completed in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Reds Princess on: February 16, 2011 12:05:40 PM
So i had high ambitions for my mums Christmas present and decided to attempt to make her a bag (using Jordys square bag tutorial and inserting a zipper)...the first one i completely mucked up putting the zipper in however the pattern sat alot more central on it. This is the second and finished attempt. Its not great but mum loves it and her friends even asked if i would start making them to sell. Unfortunately my sewing skills have alot of room for improvement...so i declined...for now  Cool

Its lined with a brown silk and the outer material is upholstery with suede trim, gusset and handles. It looks much better filled, unfortunately i forgot to take photos before giving to my mum, so these are her photo taking skills  Lips sealed Please go lightly on me  Kiss

4  Vintage/ Shabby Chic Table Runner in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Reds Princess on: January 12, 2011 08:25:08 AM
Hi everyone. My dining room is currently a blank canvas, so i started my first little project! took me about 5-6 hours when DS was in bed (DH is away, hence the time available haha!)

Im unsure wether to add some big wooden buttons at the ends with a possible cream bow? or do i just leave it like this? Excuse the bare table and cake tiers (knitting cakes to put on it Cheesy)

Also for placemats im considering recycling wine/champagne corks, slicing them into circles and making pressed flower panels, arranging the corks around the pressed flower panel on each (into a rectangle) and spraying the cork with a crackle effect cream paint?Huh

Any hints etc much appreciated!

6  Wall Hanging ( Im a newbie ) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Reds Princess on: October 05, 2010 12:11:43 PM
Hi there everyone. Im a complete newbie to this site and to using a sewing machine! iv always been a crafty one with card making etc, but i thought i would take it to the next level.

This is my first project, my husbands a Royal Marine in the British Military and this quote has always justified when hes deployed.

Sorry about the poor picture. If i had the flash on it reflected off the glass, and when i took the flash off a slight shudder would blur the picture!
