1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Looking for ornament tops - can anyone help? on: September 04, 2011 12:13:17 PM
Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the ornament tops separately?  And if so where?
I've been doing some searching online and so far no luck.
The part I'm looking for is the part that connects the glass ball (or other type of ornament) to the ornament to the hook.
It's usually either silver or gold in color has little clips that go inside the ball and a round wire loop.

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Where's the right place to ask about starting a website??? on: August 08, 2011 01:48:43 PM
I'm sure there's a place here on craftster somewhere where I can ask folks who have websites advice, but so far I can't find it, so can anyone tell me if there's a specific place or not???

I want to start a web page/website for my stuff, not just use Esty , can anyone offer advice on where to find a website that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and is not too difficult for the computer less than savy person to use?

Thanks  Judy
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Need help/advice for painting glass ornaments on: July 14, 2011 09:15:58 PM
Hi all.  I need your help/advice with a problem.  I have been trying to paint glass ornaments and they are just not coming out right.  I have been using acrylic paints from the craft store (Michael's / AC Moore) I've tried the paint straight and watered down.  The balls look good until after they've dried and then there are streaks or globs of paint on the bottom or sides.
I have tried adding little bits of paint at a time and shaking like crazy to get coverage but get the same results.
So, what am I doing wrong?  Should I be using a different type of paint?    What have you all had good results with?

Thanks   Judy
4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello from Northern Virginia on: October 11, 2010 11:09:01 AM
Hello, my name is Judy Henderson.  I'm in the Northern Va area.  I do many types of crafts.
I am new to this website and new to the craft vendor arena.  I just started this year selling soap, childrens knit items and Christmas Ornaments.

Anyone one else in Northern Va area?  I would love to find someone to share ideas, info, etc with.

This site has been a wonderful source of info.  Thanks to all.

Oh, yeah, I've been knitting since high school, also crochet, sewing is somewhat limited, cross stitch, scrapbook, make soap, candles,. and whatever else catches my eye and interest!
5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Question about soap molds on: October 02, 2010 01:45:46 PM
I'm pretty new to soap making and I'm not even sure what to call these things, so I hope you all can help me here!
I am looking for soap molds/loaf pans/tubes and the insert of whatever it is that you use to make a shape that runs through your entire loaf.  Does that make sense?

I was at a craft show and one place had loafs of soap she was cutting to order, one loaf had a rubber duck shape in the middle of it (not an actualy toy) another had a palm tree, etc
Hopefully you all know what I'm trying to describe here and what to call these and where to find them.

Thanks Judy
