1  Plague Doctor Costume in Halloween Costumes by SewMuch4Kids on: November 01, 2015 06:09:05 AM
My 12 year old daughter wanted to be a plague doctor this Halloween.  Her Dad made the mask.  He drew up the pattern, then cut it out of black foam, used spray adhesive to glue a faux black leather down, then glues it together and stitched it up with embroidery floss.  It turned out pretty nice!

4  Coraline Wig Color? in Costumes: Discussion and Questions by SewMuch4Kids on: October 06, 2014 09:16:08 AM
I am putting together a Coraline costume.  I have decided to go with the 14" EpicCosplay Chronos Wig.  The costume is going to be worn outdoors at night. I think the blue/black fusion is more Coraline's color. My concern is it will be too dark at night and look black.  My other option is the dark blue?  Any thoughts?

Thanks!  Grin

6  Help Recon. T-shirt to Dress? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by SewMuch4Kids on: July 12, 2012 11:08:25 AM
So, I picked this shirt up for my daughter at Sears for $4.99.  She loves it and wanted me to make a dress out of it. I don't want to lose a lot of the graphics. She wearsa a small and this is a men's medium. She is only 5' so I think I can do a lot with it. Any ideas?

8  4th of July Shirt in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by SewMuch4Kids on: July 04, 2012 02:24:05 PM

My daughter's made 4th of July shirts this afternoon.  This is one of them. The other is drying so I will post it later.
We got the tutorial from Ten kids and a dog http://tenkidsandadog.blogspot.com/2008/07/4th-of-july-t-shirts-2008.html My daughter really likes it.  She wanted to weave t-shirt material between the blue and red. We are still thinking about doing that.

10  Civil War Nurse Costume Reconstruction in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by SewMuch4Kids on: January 31, 2010 10:22:33 AM
My 13 year old Daughter gave me one days notice to come up with a Civil War Nurse costume for her social studies class.  This is what we came up with.  The bottom is a white, denim skirt.  It had some nice embroidery on the bottom.  I cut it off for another project and hemmed it up.  It's a drawstring skirt so we put the drawstring in the back so it looked more like an apron.  The bodice part of the apron is the corner of a pillow case we fused the red cross on.  The floppy nursed hat is the other corner of the pillow case we turne up for a brim, hemmed the bottom and rounded off the corner.  We found the ditsy floral print dress at a thrift store.  I thought it turned out pretty cute!
