1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Yikes.. on: June 17, 2007 05:53:03 AM
My uncle has asked me to be his photographer for his wedding next weekend, & I feel very unprepared. It's a small wedding, mostly just family & not a very big wedding party, but i've only done some senior portraits in the past, never anything this big. I guess i'm just nervous.

I'm guess what i'm looking for is any tips, ideas, & general support from you guys&girls.

Thankyou!
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / new camera, new pictures on: June 01, 2006 12:01:15 AM
i just recieved a new digital camera from my parents for graduation last weekend, and these are a few of the first  pictures i've taken..not done in any particular fashion..just messin around a bit ((ps: yes i got a bit obsessed with the black & white setting..but i've always liked it better than color, more powerful in my opinion!))

SIDENOTE :: these pictures aren't at all blurry, so if anyone would like to see a full size version i could leave a link

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / opinions needed! on: March 22, 2006 07:23:37 PM
i want to do a portrait-type session with a friend of mine. and i need to know what makes the best background. since i have only a small amount of money i was planning on using a black or white bedsheet hung on the wall and another draping on the floor, and a lot of floating balloons and some balloons lying around on the ground. ((i'm thinking pink, orange and yellow)) the camera i have is a single reflex, so i'm not sure what kind of lighting i need, but i'm thinking bright. add a little loud music to the mix, and we have a photo shoot.

now what i'm here to ask is, black or white bedsheets? what kind of lighting? and does the balloon idea sound ok?

thanx!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / six month anniversary present..((image heavy..sorta)) on: January 14, 2006 02:58:45 PM
A while back it was my six month anniversary with my boyfriend. ((like four months ago acutally..)) And for that special occasion I took the idea of making him a supercool mix cd and added my own little twist. I created a small booklet, as you would see in the front of most cd cases, out of pictures of him and I. I did it all on my computer and than printed them to and stapled them to create a little booklet.

Pictures:

^The Cover^

((you are the one who completely takes my breath away))

^prom pictures^

^a little poem I wrote for him^

^the list of songs that goes in the back of the cd case^

^another prom picture^

there were ten pages in all..but i don't think posting them all would be very nice for you dial up users..

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / my first pocket shrine ((but certainly not my last!)) on: November 28, 2005 08:37:52 PM
yesterday i was struck with inspiration, of course it came from this website. i heart those little pocket shrines that everyone is creating, and i really wanted to try it out myself. mine is based on the phantom of the opera. i couldn't get an altoid tin, so i used this box thingy i had laying around. i'm a little bit dissapointed about the quality of the entire thing, but oh well. like i said, it's not my first one so maybe they'll get better.
..now onto the pictures!
