1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Angry bird beanbags on: May 14, 2012 06:05:47 AM
A good friend of mine is in the process of making a gaming room so for Christmas I made him some Angry Bird beanbags. They were a great success and I have been instructed that I need to make some for our house Smiley
I've finally got the photos off of him (as I forgot to take them when i'd finished).

They took a lot longer than I thought they would to make and they broke my sewing machine twice! You can't really tell on the pictures but the red one does have feathers on it's head and a tail. The pig is the size of an average beanbag and the bird is HUGE! It's 16 cu Feet, 9.5 feet around and 40 inches high!

Onto the photos.

2  COOKING / Dessert / Angry birds cake on: July 24, 2011 02:51:32 AM
So my boyfriend is obsessed with Angry Birds (I am aswell) and after seeing the playable Angry Birds cake on electric pig months ago I knew I had to make him one for his birthday.
He's been asking for weeks what his cake was going to be and I managed to keep quiet about it and make most of the pieces while he was at work, luckily I'm on maternity leave or I would never have got them all finished. So on Saturday afternoon I sent him to the pub so I could put it together without him seeing and he loved it Smiley It was a great hit at his party, everyone wanted to have a go.

Onto the pictures...

In all it's glory, it was about 3-4 foot long Smiley

And after playing with the cake

I'll post the video of him playing it when I can find the lead for his camera Smiley
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Don't Blink on: May 25, 2011 02:45:39 PM
I made this for the Craft my Wists swap, it's a pillow case for a super long pillow.

I started off stencilling it but ended up painting the top layers as the freezer paper wouldn't stick properly.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Beetlejuice on: May 04, 2011 02:21:27 PM
I made this for the Tim Burton swap ages ago but have only just got round to posting it.
My first ever sewing project, I made him from an pattern to make a toy clown I found in a old book of my mums.

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pokemon bookmarks on: May 04, 2011 02:06:08 PM
I was trying to think of simple craft ideas to make with the kids I work with and I found a load of old pokemon cards so I  decided to turn them into bookmarks. They are so simple and only take a bit of card, glue and about 5 minutes to make.

6  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Sally on: March 03, 2011 04:05:46 AM
My friend had a Tim Burton themed birthday last year and I made a Sally costume to wear for it. It was pretty much the first thing I'd sewn so I was quite proud of it.

I can't find a good picture of the full dress at the minute but I will edit with one shortly.

Looking a bit worse for wear at the end of the night

7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / My first stencils (and topic) Mario, Tank girl & Pinky and the Brain! on: October 26, 2010 09:02:18 AM
So after seeing all the amazing stenciled shirts on here I decided to have a go myself, after finally hunting down freezer paper here in the UK I started cutting Smiley

The first one I made. I made the stencil in Photoshop by adjusting the contrast, I didn't leave any bridges though so I just worked them out as I cut it. I think it turned out pretty well for a first attempt but I was a little impatient painting it and it's bled a bit around the edges.

A Mario one I made for myself, I got the stencil from google. I think this one turned out pretty well.

My favourite one so far, Tank Girl Smiley I made this one for my boyfriend and he loved it. This one took forever though, the stencil was A3 size and it took around 3 hours to cut out. I think it was worth it though, I've just started making another Tank Girl one for me because I love it so much.

I'd love to know what you guys think of them. Thanks for looking.
