1  Re: I Want to Work for an Evil Corp. Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by krizzle on: May 02, 2011 02:57:13 PM
I received from savagerose a few days ago and I was absolutely thrilled with what I received. I just bought Idiocracy for my iPod when this swap started and I was freaking out about how amazingly electrolyte-filled Brawndo is.

My "hook-and-yarn-craft" receptacle! Brawndo is the best company ever.

WITH THE SLOGAN. God, you gotta love those electrolytes. It came with a stitch counter as well, but that's being used right now. XD

She also wrote me a letter congratulating me on my employment with Brawndo, but it didn't make the camera. Sad

Craft Butterfly: Decoupage! I bought some plastic eggs at the dollar store and sanded them down so the glue would stick better. Cheesy

Mom2Em: I adore the wooden dog and cat! They look so cute!

I received my package from NotKnit today!!! Cheesy They aren't in their eggy packages anymore though... We don't really celebrate Easter so there wasn't a reason for me not to open them! Cheesy

Pillaged box of eggs.

Here is my pin cushion, some flower seeds, and a little chick! The chick's so cute; I thought about buying that pack of little chicks from Hobby Lobby the other day, but decided against it. I'm glad I did. XD

She hand melted lots of crayons in fun shapes! My cousin is having a blast with them. And the bugs are glow in the dark omfg! And there were a lot more of those pretty paper things (what are they called? >.>) They remind me a lot of Beatrix Potter. XD

Then there was also some almond joys, but they melted in the mailbox and I left them in the fridge at work. O.o (i swear, yesterday it was snowing and today it was sweltering - please make up your mind Colorado)

THANK YOU NOTKNIT! We heart-ed the package. Cheesy

lol. The onesies are so cute! My favorite was the Deadly Viper Squad. XD

Wee! I'm finally posting. I received on Monday. XD Kuckyjune was uber nice to me and spoiled me to death!

The pin on the side with the Germany charm made me shriek hysterically. This bag goes everywhere with me now. It's so sturdy! It carried three of my textbooks no sweat! And my film-nerd buddies adore it.

A nice little army green cuff! A very nice contrast to my usual bangles. Cheesy

An awesome post-it holder! XD

A very lovely bookmark with sorta cow/snowleopard print on the back. I love the little cactus! And a keychain that says "vanishing point".

And some pretty note cards that remind me of Inglourious Basterds. Very French. XD

She also hid some lollipops and they were demolished by my theater friends while I wasn't looking. >.<

PHOTOS! YAY! Craftnewb's epic journal.

IT'S SO PRETTY! Cheesy I felt shabby in comparison. >.>

This is the first page! It was my favorite because of the background.

I WAS SO SCARED! She made her journal out of paper bags and when I first opened it I screamed! Fortunately it's fake.

AND THE GOODIES! I'm so in love with the colored pencils and the little Invader Zim tidbits.

And the clip in action! Cheesy

6  Skirt from Goodwill curtains IMG heavy. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by krizzle on: October 10, 2010 09:59:01 PM
I'm new at this so I'm still trying to figure out this bit... T.T Everything was hand stitched, which is why it took me a while to make it... (I'm scared I might break my grandma's sewing machine.)

So! I went to Goodwill a few weeks ago and found this awesome vintage curtain panel!

It was listed as ten dollars, so I was a little uncomfortable buying it, so I asked my Mama, my craft guru, via picture mail (i love technology) if she thought it would be a cute skirt, and she said it would, so that sealed the deal. I went to buy it and it ended up being only five dollars! I was so excited! So after a day or two, this was the product:

Originally that strip of fabric was supposed to be the band, but then I was going through my bag of fabric and fabric scraps, and I found an unfinished chocolate brown scarf, and my brain exploded. Literally. So again, I asked my mother what she thought, and she liked it! So I rolled with the idea and started to crochet the band (incidentally crocheting took the longest).

The bow was supposed to have little dangles, but it didn't look right when I put it together. I'm sure I'll use them for something else.

I tried to add more detail to it, so I decided to use yarn for the hem instead of thread.

And because I'm a firm believer that every skirt should have pockets, but my original pocket idea wasn't well thought out. (I wanted flower pockets, but they don't look right with a puffy skirt and there was no way I was going to cut the seams to add pockets because I was hand sewing everything.) I decided to add a hidden pocket out of a scrap of an old Star Wars shirt that I had used to make a pig!

Here's what happened to the flower I made for a pocket. ALSO! I used an incomplete version of this patter for the flower: http://skamama.blogspot.com/2007/11/5-petal-flower.html I believe I stopped after round eight...

And here is me with the skirt on!

I finished it just in time for work too! My skirt was supposed to have suspenders. I might buy a pair from Goodwill or something and see if they work out, but right now I like the way it turned out. XD

Edit: THANK YOU MAREMARE for helping me figure out the images. I'm such a N00B! T.T
