1  Cthulu and Heart Dress (it's for a baby) in Knitting: Completed Projects by h_pets360 on: July 14, 2011 12:56:19 PM
This is my biggest stranded knitting project.

I modified the chart from the Cthulu Dice Bag from AntiCraft to get the individual Cthulus (one on the front, and one on the back).  The cthulus are two stitches taller than the hearts, and the heart chart and distance between the hearts and the cthulus I made up.  (Basic charts are crazy easy to make).

You can just see the cthulu in the middle back...

Sorry my baby's so bald  Cheesy

Apparently you shouldn't read Lovecraft stories to an infant, unless you want them to make faces like this...

Original pattern here: http://blog.rosahoban.co.uk/2009/07/happy-summer-vest.html

It's made out of cotton, organic because she likes to stuff things in her mouth while I'm making them.
Also, it's HUGE because I made a 1 year old size, and made it a little longer than the pattern called for.  It's actually a shirt, but right now it works as a dress.

2  Skull Potholders for the road in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by h_pets360 on: July 14, 2011 12:41:42 PM
This was supposed to be my road trip project, but I did most of the driving.  So I did it while not on the road Cheesy

You can see I forgot the nose for one of 'em.  My husband pointed out that one looks like a normal skull, and one looks like an alien.

It's made out of Lion Brand Cotton.  I forget what their 100% cotton yarn is called, but that's the one.  It's black and neonish green, apologies for the sub par crap photos.

Already?!?  That little punk was a week late and wasn't coming out on her own.  I had to be induced, which kinda through my birthplan out the window.  Oh well.  She's perfect and adorable and sassy and strong.  and has a very in love, very biased mom.

Here's us in the hospital:

I was thinking about having a movie/craft night, but it might not be for a month or so.

4  Cthulu Dice Bag in Knitting: Completed Projects by h_pets360 on: January 30, 2011 01:28:19 PM

cthulu dice bag loose by hybrid_hopes

We've been playing Arkham Horror every so often.  This bag was inspired by the game.  I've only read a few of Lovecraft's short stories, and fell asleep during reading one.  I don't recommend that, especially if you're reading from a library book in which someone slipped a creepy note that happens to fall out on your chest and you find it when you wake up mid-nightmare.

Here's me doing the three needle bind-off for the first time Cheesy  Not a particularly instructional image, but yay for conquering new techniques!  (I promise that there are three needles being used there, but you can only see two).

6  little seamless heart in Knitting: Completed Projects by h_pets360 on: January 09, 2011 07:10:41 PM
This isn't superfancy, but I'm kinda proud of it.  I'm trying to improve my knitting skills, and this gave me practice a couple ways to increase and decrease.

here it is with one lobe done:

and here it is when I had to change over because I ran out of gray yarn!

I know it's hard to tell, but it's two sided.  The project was fun and quick.  I think I'll make more, maybe turn 'em into a scarf or stuff some of them with lavender or something.

7  Stuffed bears and an owl, crocheted in the round in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by h_pets360 on: December 03, 2010 11:42:42 AM

Wintermade stuffed animals group by hybrid_hopes

The small bear pattern is from Crochet Today! May/June 2008 and is CRAZY fast to stitch up.  I made it with stitched eyes to make it totally safe for our first baby that we're expecting in February.

The owl pattern is the Cutest Little Owl pattern from Crochet Today! Sept/Oct 2007.  It wasn't as small as the name implied, but it was cute.  Totally should've used a smaller hook, you can kind of see the stuffing peek through a little.

The bears are also from a magazine pattern, can't remember which one off the top of my head.  I changed the legs a bit, otherwise they're the same pattern and same hook: the size difference is just because one yarn is a bit thicker, although they're technically both worsted weight Cheesy  The blue bear is for one of my nieces.

8  Eyeball Dice Bag in Crochet: Completed Projects by h_pets360 on: June 15, 2010 11:40:08 AM
Made this on a trip.  I didn't have the pattern with me but I'd made lots of little bags before.  Generally just solid colored.  The idea's from the anticraft

I really need to stay on top of posting the stuff I make.  This was a couple months ago.

I  like the reddish color used in the anticraft bag.  Mine's all kind of garish acrylic stash yarn.  I forgot about the spike-like stitch when I was trying to recreate it on the plane.

Anyway, it was a fun project.

9  Green Birds in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by h_pets360 on: June 15, 2010 11:13:41 AM
I made a rainbow assortment of these for my crafty trade partner in the bird bird bird rd two swap.  And then I had to make more.  The green was my husband's favorite, so I stitched us up a trio of green birds.  It's acrylic stash yarn that might have been made in the 1970s.

Pattern's http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2007/02/19/birds-of-a-feather/ and easy to follow.  And quick!

(My grandma painted the lemon box they're posed in)

10  Re: Birds Birds Birds r2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by h_pets360 on: June 09, 2010 08:52:31 PM
Firstly, the box:

what a cute image!!

But what's inside?

A feather!  And blue tissue paper!

and green packages!

(Did you see that little black bird?  CUTE)

First package I unwrapped:

tricky getting a good shot of the little birdie pendant.

One of the big things, it's in pieces right now.  It was a planned thing, my partner made sure I was ok with assembling it.  Good idea, because it would've been tricky mailing it assembled already!

IT'S A CLOCK!  look at all the birds!  one for every hour!

Here are some close up birds:

and a cute little birdhouse!

and the black bird again:

THANK YA, PARTNER.  I like it!!!  Will try to take action pics once the clock is glued together and tickin'.
