5  Dress---McCalls 5094 View D in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Beautifully Frayed on: June 06, 2011 05:24:04 PM
I made this dress this week for a friend's wedding and a night out with my man.

I chose a reproduction print that is 100% cotton.  It is pretty hard to see in the photos.  The dress is dark purple squiggle lines outlined in red.  The dress is fully lined in a coordinating red cotton.

I chose View D, without the bow.  I cut the pattern out according to my measurements against the pattern suggestions for sizing.  I had to take in the dress when I was finished with it through the bodice and I had to shorten the straps by about an inch.  I would recommend a muslin fitting first if you plan on fully lining this dress like I did.  After I took it in the finished inside wasn't as pretty.  From the reviews I have read about this pattern, this seems typical for this pattern and others suggested using your upper bust measurement...too bad I didn't see this until after I was done!  LOL.  I still am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Things I would change:  A longer zipper!!!  I would also cut the bodice atleast a size smaller and shorten the straps.

Here is the dress!

I would love feedback!

There is so much Awesomesauce in these inchies and ATCs!  Be prepared Pic heavy!

From Chameleonhound:  She chose my themes Buddhism, Mehndi and Fairies.
First here is the amazing inchie prayerflag she made out of the Chakra symbols!!  Genius!  I seriously ooohed and ahhhed and Squeed over this.  I love it.

Here they are with the Mehndi inchies that seriously rock.  All are hand drawn and maybe etched?  Love them too!

And for my most Excellent, Freaking Sweet, BEAUTIFUL atc.....

She added a disclaimer that no butterflies were harmed in the making of this ATC.... I loved it all.  Thank you so much, Chameleonhound, You Rock!

And now for my most stellar inchies and ATC from Cranbeary... straight from Awesomeville.....

Cranbeary chose my themes Buddhism, old horror movies, fairies, and stalked me with a Big Fish inchie!  She also dabbled in the fine art of Mehndi with my ATC

In their gift box..a pile of treasures!

Here they are layed out:
The Dharma Wheel seriously rocks my socks!

Okay I am a bad, naughty, procrastinating partner.  Crazyalien8--I apologize for my tardiness!

I received these BEAUTIFUL inchies and ATC well over a week ago... closer to over two weeks ago...from Crazyalien8.

Out of this group, I love the Lotus.  The line drawings and dots are SOOO tiny.  Crazyalien8, you must have the hands of a surgeon.

Out of this group, I love the knot... and you will see why in a few seconds....Did you hand-cut those tiny holes?!

And for this group... I am going to have to go with Sparkly...shiny....glitter.....(I love them all in all the groups!!)

Now up for attention, is my Cool ATC:

All of my friends are having babies right now!  I made this blanket in June and still haven't gotten to the part where I applique the baby's name on the blanket!  I am not certain what color to use for that.  Any suggestions?
