1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: Seeking Participants in Art Project on: April 29, 2012 06:26:27 AM
Just want to say thanks for responses. I'll be taking them for many months so keep them coming. I appreciate anything you have to contribute...small or elaborate. Cheers again!
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Seeking Participants in Art Project on: April 28, 2012 07:18:08 PM
Hi all,

I'm a visual artist seeking participants in an online collaborative art project. The project site is www.fillthisvoid.com

I want to know how you cope with the existential void that surrounds us all. How do you fill this void? Is it through connecting with others, through a belief in God, or through the distraction of television and celebrity magazines? Tell me what makes you want to live in the vast emptiness of the universe.

Your contributions will form the content of the site and will be used as the basis of further work. Contributions may be either text based or visual.

Please submit through the site or email contributions to submit@fillthisvoid.com

Thanks in advance,

Text based contributions will be credited to you only by your initials unless you choose to remain completely anonymous or specify that you want your full name used. Images will have full credits attributed to the creator.
Your contribution may be altered and used in a future exhibition. It may also be published in a zine/artist book.
By contributing to the project you are giving me permission to use your contribution as I wish.

If you wish to know more about my practice, my art website is: www.michelleknowles.com

That's so pretty.  Frangipani's are the most gorgeous flowers huh?

Well, I guess I'll be the first to post what I got in this most awesome swap.

I received a beautiful beanie and scarf from Shazmina - and when I say beautiful, I mean 'BEAUTIFUL'.  I am really overwhelmed that someone would knit a total stranger something so lovely.  Anyway, I could ramble on for ages about how much I loved this package, but I'll post a pic so that everyone can drool over it, lol.

Thanks a bunch Shazmina!  You're a star!

I received my awesome package from Shazmina today!  It's just wonderful - a beautiful handmade scarf AND a beanie to match.  I absolutely love them.  I'm going to post pics in the gallery now.  Thanks so much Shazmina!

Beautiful little birdy!

These are wonderful!  I especially like the second one - you could be there sipping a glass of red wine, looking out the window to that pretty scene.

How long would these take you to complete from start to finish?

These are beautiful.  I greatly admire them and am envious of your ability to draw the human body so beautifully.  It is one subject that I constantly have trouble with.
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Polka dot bear and bird (with broken wing :/) on: March 28, 2005 03:52:22 PM
Milly: no I made them for myself, but they will probably be given away to one of the little ones in my life sooner or later!

Mary: well, I can't be accused of being a perfectionist, in fact I'm a little sloppy most of the time, lol.  I think I need to cultivate a little more patience.  Either that or accept my flaws, huh?

Kaliji: Thanks!!!

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: MY new apartment...constantly being decorated! ha ha on: March 23, 2005 03:01:51 PM
yeah, op (opportunity) shop = thrift store.  A day of 'op shopping' is a favourite pastime of me and one of my friends - I love nothing better than spending a whole day rummaging through dusty old second hand stores.  Except now that vintage is popular it has become a lot more expensive to get cool stuff cheap, though the occasional bargain comes along.  I guess that is part of the thrill of the hunt.
