Wow! I absolutely adore him! He's a great combination of cuteness and gore. I'm really excited about The Walking Dead starting up again too. Have you ever read the comic? LOVE IT!

I'm glad everyone likes it! I think that the beads only cost me about 25-30 dollars and the boards were like 5 bucks each. I already had all the pegboards.

Hehe! I'm glad you all like it. I was actually pretty surprised with my patience too; but, time kind of flew once I got the hang of it. After the border was on, I just zoomed through filling it. I think the next big one I attempt will either be a life-size Bender from Futurama or the USS Enterprise (obviously not full-scale).

Wow! They look perfect with the mural on the wall.

That was a great idea!

One weekend, I decided that I wanted to experiment with making a ridiculously huge perler bead project. I found two sprites that I liked, combined them, and added a couch...that took about 2 hours....UGH!

I bought the supplies and started on the project. It took two full weekends.

I used 50 square pegs, I have no idea how many perler and hama beads, and lots of energy drinks.

This was the first weekend's work. I ran out of Peter's skin color; so, I had to wait.

All the pieces together. I used textbooks, hand weights and much more to keep it flat.

I bought two pieces of heavy duty foam board for the backing. After I glued the project on the board, I laid it upside down and put all the weights back on top to keep it flat. Then, I used an exacto knife and cut the excess board around the picture. It's HUGE (4'X3') and there are a lot of mistakes; however, it's the first big one I've done.
9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Watercolor Stencil Portrait + TUTORIAL on: July 03, 2011 10:00:50 AM
My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year this past Friday; so, I decided that I'd attempt this for his gift since he had sketched a beautiful portrait of us for my 21st this past year.

And here's the picture I used with it.

I'd never used watercolors before...this was fun...although, the masking fluid is a pain to work with.
