1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / floating skull! on: October 19, 2005 09:47:31 AM
OK, so I didn't think of this idea myself. I saw it in last year's "Budget Living", but I thought it was a great spooky party decoration. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share.

It's a floating skull!

What you need to do it yourself:
One of those huge glass vases
A realistic skull that has an opening at the bottom (so that it sinks)
Fill the vase with enough water to submerge the skull
Place a drop or two of red food coloring to slightly tint the water

ENJOY!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / My wedding jewelry on: February 16, 2005 08:32:35 AM
I got married last May, and I wanted something totally different than the ordinary run-of-the-mill wedding jewlery, so I made the necklace myself.

Here's the necklace on me. Sorry it's not a good detail.

Some of the beads I used are natural and swarovski crystals, pearls, quartz nuggets, and silver beads.
I used a lot of beads that I bought from Thai Gem: http://www.thaigem.com

It's a great website for unique beads. The only downfall is that you pay about 10 bucks to ship from Thailand.
