1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: Craftster Site Announcement on: December 02, 2019 07:08:07 PM
I hate the cavalier, casual and insensitive way the devastation of a real community of people was announced.
'A bit of sad news', my Aunt Fanny.
I haven't been on Craftster much in that last couple of years, but I knew it was always there.
So very grateful for Jean, Pam and Kristin and all the mods.....the mammas trying to keep everyone together. Thank you ladies. Thank you so much!

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Re: Lampshade Birdfeeder on: August 05, 2019 02:10:09 PM
It came out beautifully!  And now i'm envisioning a birdfeeder made out of an old chandelier, with the places where the bulbs were each being a bowl of seed.....

Jennie, I love that idea...you should do it! i am going to drill some holes around the edge of the walnut base and stick some branches into them. I think.  Smiley
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Lampshade Birdfeeder on: August 05, 2019 01:38:49 PM
Mr. cackle is really handy, so when an old lamp base we had finally busted, he turned the glass shade into a bird feeder.

The finial was a garage sale find ($1.00) and the post is a piece of iron pipe from an old plumbing job. We used car enamel to paint the finial and the feeder base is a piece of black walnut that came from a tree that had fallen into the river near here. I love it!
