21  Re: A new type of wooden pendants in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Little owl on: December 12, 2013 03:48:35 AM
A bit late, but I did not notice the replies!
Thanks Smiley

I love the idea of hedgehogs and mushrooms (Sifi Mom and Golden Sunshine) I might do that! Both can be very cute.
Also the woodland creatures sound wonderful (perfectly bohemian), I expecially like foxes, so I might try a curled up fox.
The unexpected things, like electronic stuff sounds very interesting too. I am not sure though if that is completely my thing. But maybe I will try it anyway, could be a lot of fun to explore new things.

I did make two new ones, the tree is from a while ago already, and the flowers are from last week.
Both where woodburned again, and colored with paint or copic markers.

There is also one with red flowers, but lost the picture for a moment.
I am thinking about using the flowers for little ear-studs as well. Just tiny red flowers as ear-studs. Or maybe white daisy like flowers. Or blue 'forget me not' flowers.

Thanks! I am happy that you like them.
Is the size ok too? Or would you make them smaller/bigger?

Here are two others, the pink one is slightly smaller.

24  Is artwork less 'art' when it is made with Copic markers? in More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions by Little owl on: November 21, 2013 12:08:22 AM
Hey there!
I was wondering about something.
I often make drawings and paintings. Sometimes with oil paints, watercolors and acrylics.
But these days also with Copic Markers, and noticed that people sometimes feel that it is less 'art' because of the material I used.

I myself feel that art is not defined by the material it is made off, but I wondered about this. In the end the image is made by me, comes from my brain. And it does not matter so much what I used to put it out there. But maybe others differ. I am curious about this Smiley

Do you feel artworks feel less as 'art' when they are made of Copic Markers or other modern materials, instead of for example watercolors, oil paint, acrylics etc?

Copic marker drawings, with sometimes details of white paint:

25  New glass tree pendants in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Little owl on: November 20, 2013 11:54:54 PM

I made some fused glass pendants again, with handpainted trees on top. Just wanted to show them as it has been a while since I made anything! Smiley

26  A new type of wooden pendants in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Little owl on: September 25, 2013 08:05:05 AM
I started making some new pendants with wood, in a different way then before. First I made dragonflies, but now I like to burn small drawings by hand into wooden disks.
Just wanted to show it and see if people like it! Smiley I really enjoy making these.

Any ideas about what else you would like to see on wood?

27  Re: New fused glass pendants :) in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Little owl on: May 15, 2012 10:56:28 PM
Thanks for the replies  Cheesy

The paint does not chip of because its a good porcelain paint, it should stay strong for a pretty long time if the product does what it promises. It should be dishwasher resistant etc, although I would not put it in a dishwasher anyway because sometimes glass becomes dull in a dishwasher. But still, for the painted on trees that should be enough certainty right?

Here is another one:

Today I hope to finish another very small one, when it is finished it should look like a leaf with two different colored sides. But I am not sure yet if it will work out Smiley I hope!
And I was thinking that maybe a pendant with a tree and sky colors in the background would be cute?  And another one with a night color and painted on stars?

28  New fused glass pendants :) in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Little owl on: May 15, 2012 11:41:01 AM
Hey there! Smiley
This week I decided that I wanted to make more fused glass pendants with trees painted on them.  I made some designs first, on paper, and then started cutting the right glass.
I fused the glass today and yesterday, and then painted the tree on by hand.
I hope you guys like it Smiley

I made one more but the pictures of it will come later on.

30  Wood carving with a dremel in Completed Projects by Little owl on: February 15, 2012 08:54:10 AM
Yesterday I suddenly started carving wood with a dremel that I have (and have been having for years). I discovered that its really nice to work on wood this way Smiley and I finished a heart.
Here you can see the result and the materials I used.

I`m going to make more of these I think, I love wood and its possibilities! And I love cute little hearts that one can hold it his/her hand.
Wood can feel very soft to the touch, very suitable for hearts to hold in your hands ^_^
