1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / 12 down, 7,988 to go (picture heavy) on: November 04, 2010 07:34:52 AM
A few weeks ago I posted my "8000 Crystals" Dilemma, and got some great advice. I've managed to turn a few of them into pieces I think are workable.

Wire and Snowflakes

Wire and Leaves

Chain and Leaves

The Cruel Sea and a Pyramid

If anyone has any suggestions for more/better uses for these crystals or...anything, let me know! Thanks!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wild Cherry on: October 28, 2010 12:17:34 PM
I made these guys forever ago and finally took pictures of them.

Cherry Earrings

And Cherry Necklace (modeled by my candy-chicken - I'm sorry he's sideways, but he's kind of a diva)

I wear these pretty much every day. What do you think of the necklace cord? I can't make up my mind if I like it or If I want to change it up for a chain / ribbon / daisy chain...
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Best Brussles Sprouts and Cornish Game hen I've ever tasted. on: October 07, 2010 02:50:03 PM
Captain Boyfriend and I were given the most amazing Brussels Sprouts Recipe this weekend. Words failed me. As you can see from the picture below we ate far, far more than was good for us - but I can honestly say it was worth the tummy ache.

Pictured: Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts, Fried Roots and Cornish Game Hen with Plum and Honey.

You have to try these Brussels Sprouts (seriously - they're like vegetable candy made by unicorns and fed to you on your birthday in the moonlight on a plate made of rose petals):

Blanch Sprouts.
Slice in Half.
In a Pan melt some butter or olive oil (enough to coat your quantity of Sprouts)
And the sprouts and fry for about 5 minutes.
Drizzle about 1/4 cup maple syrup (real, natch) and cook down until it thickens.
Serve and Scarf.

And the Game Hen

Remove innards, replace them with two small plums (hat you've poked with a fork repeatedly)
Loosen skin and slide morsels of butter underneath.
Drizzle liberally with Honey, pop in a roasting pan and cook at 350 until all of the microbes that could kill you are dead, and the skin is golden brown and crispy.
Serve and Scarf.

Please enjoy!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / 8000 glass/crystal pieces -oh my! on: September 14, 2010 08:49:49 AM
Hi There,

I'm hoping to get some ideas and advice from all of you wonderful Jewelry and Trinkets people. On of my boss's clients has an inventory over over 8000 crystal pyramids, spheres, prisms, beads, etc, and I've been tasked with somehow getting rid of them for money. Many of the pieces are pierced / drilled so jewelry or whatnots can be made and sold (item: he doesn't want to have to build traffic to a website - it gets more and more challenging!) but others (such as star and snowflake shapes) have no holes.

Many others, though, are clear or colored spheres or pyramids in various sizes, and I'm at a bit of a loss as for what could be done with them, and how to dispose of them once it's been done.

I'd be very happy to sell these guys (well - the owner of them would be...) if someone wanted a cartload or perhaps knows of a glass etcher or someone who could really use them?

Any ideas? Some samples of the crystals are below...

5  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Spaghetti Squash on: August 12, 2010 09:47:54 AM
I've got a beautiful ripe spaghetti Squash sitting on my counter waiting to be turned into dinner. However, I've never cooked on before - I Googled a bunch of recipes that look nice - but does anyone have a recommendation? (We'll be eating it with grilled steak and lettuce salad)
