51  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Going Postal Swap on: December 03, 2012 12:51:51 PM

So how about a postal themed swap? This wouldnt be like the stationary/penpal swaps, but instead, postal themed items. Envelopes, air mail, postage stamps, postcards, etc. I put together a Pinterest inspiration board here. Check it out, and let me know what you guys think! If there is some interest, I was thinking either (1 small item) or going a tad bigger and do (2 small items OR 1 medium item [your choice]). No extras needed, maybe sign ups Jan 7 for a week, then three weeks crafting time, send outs Feb 4. Low stress, lower cost, LOTS of fun! Smiley
52  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Snowman Wall Quilt on: November 08, 2012 07:07:40 PM
For my birthday, I treated myself to this pattern kit from Laundry Basket Quilts from my local quilt shop. (Click on Raw Edge Quilt Patterns on the left hand side) I love batik, I love Christmas time, and I love the blue and white Christmas motif, so this was meant to be mine. I learned a lot, and it is the first quilted project I have ever made for myself.

I am super excited about it, and I also have the supplies to make the snowflake one (seen in the link above). I promise it really is straighter than the picture shows, just hanging up is making it look a little wonky.

Thanks for looking!
53  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Notes with swap packages on: August 29, 2012 01:35:11 PM
Anyone else save all the notes they get with their packages? I just went through all mine- so neat remembering all my partners and packages. I was thinking about putting them all into a book type thing so they aren't just sitting in a drawer. Have any of you done anything with yours?
54  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Tiny house on: August 12, 2012 12:42:00 PM
I made this for my partner for the Tiny House swap. She wanted a stuffed house to sit on her shelf, so this is what I came up with.

Thanks for looking!
55  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / House hoop on: August 12, 2012 12:39:16 PM
I made this up for my pal FeliciaSlayDCRG's birthday. She had the saying on her Pinterest, and I went from there.

What did I learn? I need to practice better lettering techniques, instead of just eyeballing it. Roll Eyes She said she likes it though, and thats all that matters! Smiley

58  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Anything goes tiny house swap? on: July 18, 2012 09:52:34 AM
I've been having so much fun collecting pins of tiny houses on my Tiny Houses Pinterest board. I know there have been a few rounds of tiny house swapping before, mostly in the 4"x4"x4" format, and also chunky house swaps as well. I was thinking maybe this time we could be open to more mediums and crafts...tiny pillows, felt ornaments, pin cushions, wall art, embroideries, traditional paper/cardboard, etc, as long as its in the tiny 4" size range. Ive never organized before, but I just wanted to see if there was any other interest. Smiley
59  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Scissor cozy on: June 08, 2012 12:13:45 PM
We are having a nine hour drive to vacation next week, and I want to take some crafty stuff in the car to work on. I didnt want my scissors poking around in my bag so I wanted to make up something to put them in. Ive seen those cute quilted zippered ones around, but didnt want to spend the time or have the time to make up one of those. So felt it was! I machine stitched around and then blanket stitched to give it a little more character. There is a velcro closure with a button sewn on for looks.

I was thinking about doing up a tutorial after I see how it holds up on the trip if anyone is interested.

Thanks for looking! Smiley
60  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Wrist pincushion on: June 08, 2012 12:07:42 PM
Using this tutorial I made myself a wrist pincushion! We are having a nine hour drive to vacation next week, and I want to take some embroidery stuff in the car to work on. Cant be losing those needles in the car! This was a great tutorial, super quick (not my best/neatest work, but since I was making it for myself, I was trying to hurry Grin). Id love to get some pinking shears to do up the edges all cute like. I can also see myself making up some of these (neater though) for swap extras.

Thanks for looking Smiley
