1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Where can I sell my crafts/supplies? on: July 28, 2010 01:00:36 PM
I feel that when you're first starting out, to get a really good idea of what people want, start selling your crafts to your friends and family. What I did with the candles is make a few and bring them into my old workplace just to show what I was doing. They loved them! So they wanted to buy them. I was able to get a really good feel for what they preferred in terms of cost, glass style, and scent. They also gave their opinions about price.

It's a great way to do some early marketing.

Then, after that, look for local craft fairs that are inexpensive. MAKE YOUR TABLE ROCK, since that's what will draw attention. You are likely to build a good name for yourself there.

I honestly wouldn't start online first. I would start with these two methods and perfect your craft and THEN take it online. Plus, you will be able to make more money selling personally and in craft fairs then you will online.

Hi everyone,

is anyone familiar with scrapbook wall art? I saw it at an old friends house - she would take family pictures and create framed art for her boys' rooms, in scrapbook style. I have been wanting to do that for my son but can't find a good tutorial. Any ideas?
