71  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: tatoo inspired embroidery, but what to do with it? on: June 13, 2005 12:34:13 PM
How about using it as a "do not disturb" door knob hanger for your crafting room/area?

I think you did a fantastic job...I wish my satin stitch looked that good!
72  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dirty fangers! on: June 13, 2005 06:32:52 AM
I keep a container of wet-ones with my embroidery/cross stitch projects.  If I am traveling I bring the individually wrapped wipes.  That way you can have clean hands any time and any place!
73  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Floss issues??? on: June 13, 2005 06:30:44 AM
I usually drag the floss across thread heaven both before and after splitting the floss bits.  I find it helps both with separating, curling and knotting.

Wow!  You have really set the bar high now for this swap sfishbaugh!

I'm nervous, I had two different ideas for my bag, and I hope I picked the right one and my partner likes it.

Those are both excellent!

I imagine everyone is different, but I like the chain stitch for curves.
77  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: newbie question re: storage on: June 07, 2005 08:43:52 AM
Meri, don't feel bad, I use stitchbow as well!  I have also tried bobbins and they just don't work for me, I am not coordinated enough to wind them.

In fact, if any of you want my bobbin-y items, I will happily pass along or trade.  Smiley
78  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Needing advice on embroidering onesie on: June 07, 2005 08:40:25 AM
I would also suggest making sure to select the appropriate needle for the amount of floss-it's pretty easy to tear a hole in the onesie if your needle is too large.

I mostly embroider onesies, so if you have any other questions go ahead-and good luck!
79  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Transfering onto Dark Fabrics on: June 03, 2005 06:08:53 AM
I must have bought the same paper that lao80 had-it just didn't seem to work for me.  I'll definitely try Jenny's paper.

What do you guys use to press on the paper?  I have transfer wheels, but I didn't like them very much.  I'd be interested to see other people's suggestions.

Cute nic name!

I found this site doing a google search-

It seemed like a decent resource.

Then Leisure Arts seems to have a bunch of books with designs, this site has a list:

Good luck!
