1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Scrapbook paper on: February 19, 2011 10:11:51 PM
I scored some really awesome scrapbook paper on sale at Joann Fabrics, but... I don't scrapbook. I used to, but now most of my photography is digital, I haven't taken pictures in a long time, and I suck at scrapbooking. Lets be honest here.

So, what can I do with this awesome paper? I want to be able to show off the designs of the paper to it's full potential. I bought a booklet of 4x6 and 8x8 paper.

4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello, everybody! on: July 22, 2010 02:05:30 AM
For years and years, I'd dabbled into a couple of crafts. I've tried my hand at jewelry making, pottery, scrapbooking...
And I suck at every last one of them.

Until last November when I finally found my niche, knitting. As I sit here typing this, I look across my desk and find four balls of yarn (not including the bag I have on the floor next to me lol), two sets of needles, a crochet hook and one WIP. I work on mostly small projects for now, as I am still pretty new at it. I love making little stuffed toys. They're adorable, and the gratification is almost instant. I actually found a link to this forum via ravelry.

Oh, and I also looooove to bake, but I had actually never really considered that a craft.

A little bit of background on myself:
My name is Kali, and I am a third year psych major with goals of getting my PhD. I have resided in sunny South Florida for nineteen years. I live in a house with my boyfriend, five cats and a dog. When I'm not studying or knitting, I spend entirely too much time either behind the computer or the television. I'm a sucker for Bravo's reality shows. I also love jamming out to music, I frequently put headphones in my ears and pace/dance around the porch in the dark. I claim that my favorite season is winter, but I actually have no concept of what real winter is like, so my favorite season is actually Florida winter, when the temperature gets tolerable.

So, hi everyone! I look forward to stalking all of your craft endeavors, and hopefully posting many of my own. I also hope that I can perhaps perfect my skills in other crafts. =)
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: Sewing needle injuries, anybody? on: July 22, 2010 01:51:42 AM
I.... actually chipped my tooth on a sewing needle.

I'll let that sink in for a second.

I was fourteen(?) years old, I think, and I was sewing a patch onto my backpack. I was having a really hard time getting the eye of the needle through the heavy canvas and then the patch, so I took it between my teeth and pulled.
And yep, chipped a tooth.
