Brief Description: I created this dream catcher for my daughter. I never would have been able to make anything like this without the inspiration my fellow craftsters show with every post. Ive never made a dream catcher before and it seemed really daunting. But, I see you all try new things all of the time with great success! It is such an inspiration to give something new a try. And, you know what? I always have fun. And I love sharing. I know my daughter is going to love this when she opens it Christmas morning.

Class/Challenge: House Unity
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Crochet sorting hat cat toy
http://www.tarturumies.com/2016/10/21/amigurumi-patron-gatita-misha-halloween/
Brief Description: I started with just the basic witch hat from the pattern and then single crocheted over the hat with the eyes and mouth details. I stuffed it with fluff and catnip and sent it on to my swap partner! The sorting hat manages all Hogwarts Houses!
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: Detention Advanced Studies Challenge
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Hug me Tight/Sontag
http://retrospectsewing.blogspot.com/2016/02/crocheted-sontag-pattern.html
Brief Description: I began this crochet project almost two years ago and put it aside as it wasnt intended for anyone but me. Everything was done but the shell stitching in white. I love history and the idea that people knitted these sontags over 200 years ago just tickles me. I, however, cannot knit worth beans so I found a crocheted version that only shows the basic design and added the shell stitch border myself.

Ok all. I apologize for the huge class drop I am about to do. I, like ErinAquaheart, really want to utilize Craftster until the very end.

Class/Challenge: Apparition
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Lavender and Tea Tree charcoal and clay face soap
Brief Description: Its no secret that I love making soap. This one turned out lovely! The recipe is from a book by Jan Berry that I added both Tea tree and lavender essential oils to to help reduce acne. The activated charcoal helps to purge pores and the clay helps with oily skin types. The only downside to this soap is that it only made 6 bars. Now I know I need to double the batch!

Class/Challenge: Astronomy
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Crocheted soap saver
https://crochetncrafts.com/pretty-simple-soap-cozy/
Brief Description: I have been trying so hard this year to reduce our waste and carbon footprint! And, in doing that, I have been trying to get others to do so as well. Part of that has been accomplished by making things like soap savers. Here is the one I made for a swap. The link above has been my favorite pattern to follow.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: Care of Magical Creatures
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Fairy Lights Ornament
http://blog.erinstblaine.com/2013/03/led-fairy-lights-steampunk-costume.html?m=1
Brief Description: I was inspired by the link above to make this Christmas ornament. It uses lovely multi-colored cellophane to mimic the fairy wings and it is lit inside with multicolor strands of lights. I wanted to make our headmistress something she could either hang or set on a mantle and I used one of Dumbledores quite famous quotes to go along with it. I apologize for having to steal our Headmistresss photo of it as mine was terrible!

Class/Challenge: Charms
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link:  Midcentury Christmas Tree scene https://www.craftionary.net/diy-modern-christmas-trees/
Brief Description: I based my little tree scene off of the link picture above. I really had to slow down because I took a long plank of wood and had to use a rotary saw to cut everything to size. I dont use a saw much b/c they scare the Dickens out of me but I wanted to make something lovely for my swap partner. It can stand on a table as is or be hung on the wall.

Class/Challenge: Flying

House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Hooded Scarf  https://gina-michele.com/2018/01/easy-hooded-scarf-free-knitting-pattern-2.html
Brief Description: This hooded scarf is literally made of only loops so I for sure practiced how I should not have! I made up the pattern in tunisian stitch and it was inspired by the photo in the link above as I cannot knit!

Class/Challenge: Herbology
SPEW:
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Mermaid Fingerless Gloves  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mermaid-scale-fingerless-gloves
Brief Description: I made these lovely fingerless gloves for my swap partner for Christmas. They were made with long, thin yarn.

Class/Challenge: HoM
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Polymer Clay Potter Ornaments
https://www.deviantart.com/vitaaz/art/How-to-make-Harry-Potter-211300742
Brief Description:
I love the Harry Potter-verse. These books came out when I was a kid and really inspired my love of reading. Christmas is also something many of us love and experienced as children. I wanted to put the two together to make two of my favorite characters into ornaments. For Harry, I followed the tutorial above. For Hermione, I tweaked it to suit her.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: Muggle Studies
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Golden Snitch cat toy
Brief Description: Every kitty needs a golden snitch cat toy! And gold, as we know, is just the shinier prettier yellow! The swan to the duck of the yellow color world. I didnt really follow a pattern, just made two half spheres and winged it on the wings.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: Potions
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link:  Large Scabbers catnip toy
https://tubachingching.wordpress.com/2008/05/06/easy-peasy-catnip-mouse/
Brief Description: This is Scabbers (before we knew he was Pettigrew) and, not only did he increase in size due to increases in crochet stitches, but he also increased due to the fact that I used a larger size yarn!
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: SoAR
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Headbands
https://whatthecraft.com/how-to-make-a-rosie-wrap-head-band-diy-fashion-tutorial/
Brief Description: I had to read the tutorial to make these headbands. Also, the Marauders Map headband definitely has text - or does it?!

I received from our lovely mistress Jennie! And I am just floored by her generosity. Not only did she create just for me two sweet ornaments, but she also sent so many extras!
First, Hermione's bag ornament and Slytherine's locket!

She says these were made for her shop but cannot sell them so I am the beneficiary of all of these wonderful Harry Potter goodies!

And she also got my a mystery Harry Potter ornament! When I opened it, it was smart and lovely Hermione! Perfect to go with the lovely bag ornament.

Jennie, thank you so much for the wonderful gifts. This morning was rough for me and I was absolutely thrilled and cheered up to receive such a thoughtful gift. It makes me a little sad, this being the last craft swap on craftster for me. I have loved every moment - this community has truly been a gift in my life. I am excited to see what comes next for us.

Class/Challenge: The Burrow Challenge
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Chicken Bone Broth
Brief Description: I love bone broth. Not only does it make me comfy and cozy, but it is delicious and definitely comes from humble origins. All the leftover bones from previously eaten rotisserie chickens, wings, drumsticks, any of them! They all get thrown in a freezer bag for bone broth. I do not follow a recipe but here are some estimates.

1-2 lbs. chicken bones
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. peppercorns
1 tsp. coriander seeds
1 large sprig fresh rosemary
1 tbsp. dried thyme
1 tbsp. dried minced garlic
salt to taste

Put it all in a large pot and cover with an inch or two of water. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid and drop down to a simmer. Let simmer 8 or so hours, adding more water when evaporated. Strain out solids and fat. Enjoy!

Class/Challenge: Floo Silent Evolution Coral Reef
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Birthday party puff gloves!
http://www.hopefulhoney.com/2012/04/perfect-solutions.html
Brief Description: My daughter handed me an invitation to a friends birthday party the day before the actual party. Zero time to go buy a gift! I was told her favorite color is blue so I made these fingerless gloves in the ocean shades of blue.
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge: Welcome Feast Challenge
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name & Page Link: Chocolate cake and buttercream frosting
https://unsophisticook.com/best-buttercream-frosting-recipe/
Brief Description: It was my daughters 10th birthday and she normally doesnt like frosting but she love this one! For the cake itself, I simply mixed up a batch of Betty Crockers Triple Fudge Cake Mix. The frosting here is the real winner, though. I followed the recipe from the link above and added 2 tablespoons of blackcurrant jam to give more depth of flavor and a light pink color. It turned out wonderful and my daughter and her friends loved it!

It was my youngest babies birthday last weekend and she turned 10!! What a big kid! And Amelia helped with the party by baking the cake and making buttercream from scratch. What a great helper!

And she helped melt everything for muddy buddies!

Mire has wanted a mini skateboard for a long time and Amelia was more than happy to join in on gifting the fun.

Amelia joined us at the mall where my youngest got to do American Ninja Warrior! It was just the coolest!
Then, today, she got to chill with me in the backyard while I crocheted.
