1  Re: Traveling Little Visitor Swap Round 26 - Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Audania1 on: January 16, 2018 01:45:19 PM
Aurora and I got to young my kiddo on her field trip to the nimbus fish hatchery in Sacramento where she got to release the salmon they raised in class. So neat!
I think aurora was VERY interested in the salmon and steelhead trout - I think I heard her tummy growling...

Yesterday started out rather boring with a long drive to run errands. Aurora really enjoyed the "relax" diffuser blend in my car though! And then it ended with an awesome movie already previously mentioned! The Last Jedi. And I also enjoyed it. Smiley

I also have a massive project dump to post so I am so sorry!! I am posting all of the text via my computer and then I will be going through on my tapatalk app to post photos so I'm sorry if anyone catches this before I'm finished. I just want to make sure that I don't accidentally have another mishap where things are missing in my post again!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Alchemy
SPEW:
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: 14 cinnamon stick candle holders
Project Page Link (if available): http://weshareideas.com.br/blog/diy-vela-decorada-com-canela/
Brief Description: I added cinnamon sticks to ribbon and a glass candle holder to scent the air with cinnamon when the candle heats them up. I chose unscented white candles as well so that the full effect of the cinnamon can be smelled. I didnt want the flame to actually burn the cinnamon sticks, however, or get wax every where so I put it in a holder instead of directly on the candle. Also, there are only 5 in the picture because I'd already started wrapping the others! Oops!

House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Halloween Night

Brief Description: I needed the quietus charm when I made this Oogie Boogie stocking for my partner. My sewing machine did not like going through so many layers of burlap and felt. I ended up hand stitching most of everything on first and then run the machine around the edges of the stocking.

Class: iron chef honey!
House: ravenclaw
Title: hot mulled wine
Description:
One of our favorite winter treats is hot mulled wine. We used to follow a set recipe but now i eyeball everything and come up with what we like best. Here is what I use:
1 palm full whole cloves
6 or 7 allspice berries
2 cinnamon sticks broken into chunks
1 lemon cut in half and squeezed into pot
1 orange cut in half and squeezed into pot
1 bottle dry type wine. I use a cabernet usually.
1/2 cup extra orange juice if necessary.
1/4 cup brandy per glass(ish)
Squeeze of honey to coat bottom of glass or mug

Directions
Put all of ingredients (including lemon and orange bits that have been squeezed out) except honey and brandy in a pot and bring to a gentle simmer for 25 to 30 min. Put brandy and honey in favorite mug. Strain wine into glass. Stir and enjoy! Unless you are under 21. Then ignore this lol.

Aurora had a wonderful trip to the Charles Dickens Christmas Fair! We had tea, got to see some live shows, participate in artist sketching with Edmund Blair Leighton, dance a few waltzes in Fezziwig's, and she even got to see the can-can lol.

lindyv321 sent me such a lovely package!! Here's the first bit:
A super soft long-sleeved tshirt that I'm wearing as I type this. I'm so excited to use this washi tape dispenser! I have tapes and this comes with some but it's so nice to have an easy way to get it out!. Some delicious lip balm that my children confiscated the moment the picture was over. There's a beautiful paper chain kit that we will be using for next year and a wooden picture frame to decorate with sweet seasonal stuff. Cute santa cards with room for a picture on the front. A beautiful make your own necklace kit! My favorite though is the turkish drop spindle!! I've wanted one for so long!! Thank you!!

And this was all in my stocking! Can you believe it??!! Don't worry - I was nice and shared with my family haha. The little reindeer necklace is super cute and I adore the tiny spatulas. They will come in extremely handy with my chocolate melter. I will be using the face mask this weekend and I totally appreciate the stretchy ponytails! I have dreadlocks and anything large/loose to hold them back is always welcome.

And check out this fabulous stocking! I can see why it gave her trouble - that soft fabric must have been a beezy to work with. But it's so soft and I absolutely love the image so I totally appreciate all the trouble you went through!

This "Joy" pallet is too cute

And I love the "December 25"th sign! So does my kiddo. Smiley

And such a cute little hand painted tree ornament!

She also sent a Rudolph game! So fun!! We are going to visit family for Christmas and will be bringing this as there will be lots of kids.

My favorite thing, however, is this little snow guy. Just look at how cheerful he is in his little snow dome!!!

Thank you, Lindy, for everything! We love it all and you are such a sweetheart to include so many things I can share.
