4  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: ACTIVE: GRANNY-A-DAY MARCH STARTS NOW! on: March 18, 2011 10:09:02 AM
My eight year old daugter (lovingly referred to as Midget in our house) has been carrying a blanket that was made for her when she was born. I hesitate to call the poor thing a blanket anymore.. 'knotted, ratty ball of string' would be more appropriate.  I was determined to make her a new one, but I didn't know how to crochet. After spending much time on Craftster, and seeing the 'first time crocheters' I decided to learn. I watched a youtube video to learn the stitches.. I am nowhere near a pro at it, but it's gotten easier! I am up to 77 squares so far this month (obsessive, yes, but I'm afraid I'll forget how to do it! ha!).
we found a yarn that morphs through a rainbow of purple shades.. her favorite color.. so they look kind of funny.
hopefully it will look better once they are all together. now to find a youtube video to figure out how to do that...lol
