1  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / First weaving project (now addicted!) on: January 29, 2012 08:11:42 PM
My wonderful mom bought me a cricket loom for Christmas, and I finally stepped away from my spinning wheel long enough to try it out hehe I love it! I used the yarn that came with it which just so happen to be my sons favorite colors, and made him a scarf! He loves it death of course you would not know it from the photo haha

3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Need advice on dutch spinning wheel asap on: May 09, 2011 03:12:28 PM
So I found this spinning wheel on craigslist today but since this would be my first wheel I need y'alls expertise!
Is this a good wheel? Should I pounce on it? And thoughts would be nice:)

4  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Toddler roving dyeing on: March 07, 2011 08:31:10 PM
I have never dyed roving before, and got the idea that I wanted to spin Easter theme yarn to crochet my daughter a cardigan for Easter. So out came the pretty superwash wool and some koolaid. I even let my kids dye some up, and my daughter, who is 18 months old, did a great job! I love her's, and she is in charge of dyeing now haha  Cheesy Once I'm done with the cardigan I'm going to make something for each of them with the yarn i spin from their roving, just not sure what yet though.

My 3 year old's, he picked red blue and green, such a boy!

My daughter's, pink red and yellow

My Easter ones, the second is my favorite since it's more Easter looking

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Black and Grey Craft Room Re-do! on: February 20, 2011 01:26:12 PM
My craft area was blah, and no storage or work space. I re-did it recently and love it to death! It's an odd area because it is a 6' x 8' room but i can only use two walls because one has the door to the laundry room and the other is a huge walk through area from our living room.

And after!:

6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / My first attempt! on: February 01, 2011 12:32:20 PM
I just got my drop spindle, and just spun my first yarn! It's a tiny amount that I can't do much with, but I had fun making it! And I am officially addicted!!! hehe  Grin

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Texas Tech Afghan on: January 27, 2011 10:37:06 PM
This was my first afghan, and I've only been crocheting since Oct...so yay me? It didn't turn out to pretty but I'm just proud I finished the dang thing! It was suppose to be a Christmas present for my mom but that never happened. Now I can send it to her, and since she's my mom she will love it...or at least her dachshund will Wink HA!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Vintage 50's/60's dresser re-do on: January 25, 2011 08:51:15 PM
I have been wanting to put this on here forever, and you will see in the pics it was taken around Christmas time Smiley hehe

This dresser was used by me in high school, but orginally was my Aunt's when she was a teenager. It's from around the late 50s early 60's but was not my style at all. None the less I took it with me when I got married, because we had nothing! Finally I got the idea to sand and stain the dresser, then add new hardware.....and this is what I got!

Before (my hubby started taking drawers before I could take a pic!)

AFTER! I love it so much! Now we need to do the bed that matches Smiley

9  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / How much wool for a "sheet" of felt on: January 25, 2011 08:40:44 AM
I would like to make my own felt to sew with and I am wondering how much roving I would need to make a sheet of felt. The size would be like the craft felt you can buy everywhere.

Thanks in advance! I tried finding this online but couldn't Smiley
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Would a shelf look ok here? on: November 28, 2010 07:43:19 PM
I have three framed photos in my kitchen that are driving me insane! i love the photos and the frames but every time my kids hit the wall they fall or slant. This happens so often that i stopped fixing them and just leave them slanted. So here is my idea.... would it look good with a white shelf where the photos are now? I'm not thinking wide just small enough for the photos and since i have a coffee theme i thought about even a vintage coffee grinder and/or tea cups on there as well.

Thanks in advance for all thoughts! Smiley
