My sister recognized my handwriting on the back cover of the My Secret Post Secret book.  I shrugged it off, but it's mine!

In case you feel like I cheated and recycled a secret, I'll give you a bonus one.

I once had a toothache and no painkillers to take or any sick days.  I took a small bottle of vodka to work, hid it in the trashcan in the bathroom and then snuck my lemonade in to mix it two or three times over the evening.  I didn't get caught and I felt great!

I have an addictive personality

Once I get into something I cant stop till I'm done or months later.

My most recent Addiction?  Reading.  I cant stop, Even if the novel sucks (like the one ripped up on this post card).  I've spent About $1200 on books at Barnes And Noble in a matter of months.  Money I cant waste.

I get Addicted to crafts till they're done.  TV series.  Series on DVD (I'll spend hours watching them despite plans I may have had previously).

It scares me.  I'm Afraid of becoming Addicted to something bad.  I've Avoided drugs and pills and gambling.  But with my 21st passed, Alcohol has entered the picture.

I'm hoping I break the pattern.

My very last card. Cry

I watched I Just for Chad Micheal Murry
(I'm pretty sure the second 'I' is supposed to be 'It'.  The movie poster, if you can't see, is for House of Wax.)

Oh, I have watched many a film for no other reason than that it had somebody in it I wanted to see!  I've watched a lot of movies I didn't know anything about, even, just because it had an actor in it that I liked, and I've watched some really bad movies for the same reason.  Some of them I've watched..er...more than once. Roll Eyes  Thanks for this card!

Now that I've received all my cards, maybe I'll have a chance to go back and respond to a bunch of the ones I've looked at but not commented on.  I'm way behind!

By the way, I'd just like to send out a blanket THANK YOU to all of the senders of the cards I've received.  I've liked every one of them, and I'm treasuring them.  This swap has been incredible.

Wow, Haylie, 16 cards!  I can't wait!  I think I only have one card left to receive and I'm sad that the swap will be winding down soon, so I'm actually kind of excited to have a big batch show up in the gallery. Cheesy

Here's the one I got today:

Villains always have more _ _ _ appeal

I would provisionally agree. Wink

I'm sorry, I haven't had a chance to post these recent arrivals!

After making all of my secrets I've decided that after sending them I'm going to show all of them (except this one) to my boyfriend.  I hope this will help him to understand me and our relationship better.  Besides you guys at Craftster, he will be the only one who knows most of the stuff I've written.  Wish me luck!

I'm completely terrified but I'm afraid if I don't tell him he will never know why I am the way I am...

GOOD LUCK, Secret Sender! Kiss  I love this card so much.  It amazes and awes me to think how much therapy has gone on in this gallery.

Children make me want to Pinch their Cheeks!
Even though I know How much it hurts!

[Back says:]  This also applies to adults, regardless of sex, age, or current situation.

This cracked me up.  I actually caught myself PATTING A CHILD ON THE HEAD once and was horrified, so I understand the impulse.

And speaking of cute children...

When she was a newborn I'd poke her until she stirred to make sure she was still alive.

I don't think you are alone here.  I don't have any children myself, but I know the feeling and I know perfectly well that I would do this too; and I have very clear memories of when my niece was born--her mother wanted children desperately, and from various health problems was very unlikely to have any.  My niece was kind of a miracle baby, and it was a high-risk pregnancy with some complications both before and after the birth.  I've never seen anyone love a child more desperately or be more deep-down terrified that she might somehow be taken away.  You are definitely not the only person with this secret!

The only thing in my mailbox today:

'I'm Too Embarrassed by my thoughts and feelings to keep a diary'

I like this card so much!  Sender, whoever you are, thank you so much for sending me this.

And now, because it seems important to me to say:  I don't want to seem all evangelical about the virtues of diary-keeping (because I keep a diary myself), but I do think it can be very valuable.  If you DO want to keep a diary but feel uncomfortable, please realise that that's normal.  That's part of keeping a diary--it's a tool for growth, for learning about yourself and coming to terms with yourself, and part of that process is that you sometimes have bits you are embarrassed by or find painful or uncomfortable.  I've been keeping a journal for years and I still feel that way sometimes.  The best thing to do is just write it anyway, write fast so you can't censor yourself, and sometimes once you get it out it doesn't seem so bad--or sometimes it does, but it's more manageable--or sometimes it still seems mortifying, but it gives you a place to start.  There's a book called The New Diary by Tristine Rainer that might be useful to you, and I am only a PM away if you ever want to talk.  (That goes for all the rest of you swappers too. Wink )

And if you AREN'T really interested in keeping a diary and were just stating a fact, then please ignore the preceding paragraph. Cheesy Roll Eyes

There are about a billion secrets I'd like to comment on, but I'm going to have to go back through the thread again to do it.  For now, I'd just like to say--to the person who sent the 'I loves me some BEATLES' card--you are my new friend, whoever you are!  I am totally out of the loop with trendy music (or trendy anything, really), because I don't have TV and I can't pick up any radio stations where I live, but I have a permanent and very large place in my heart for the Beatles.  You're not alone!

Wow, there are tons I want to comment on, but no time right now.  This is a beautiful gallery; I'm so excited every time a new post is made!  Somebody said recently that this swap has meant a lot more to her than she expected, and I completely agree.  It's been that way for me too.  Thank you so much to the people who have commented on my cards; it means so much to me, and one or two of your comments have been so...perfect...that I'm seriously considering PMing you to talk about it. Wink

So, anyway, I got five more cards today!--and here they are:

'I know all the words.  AND the dance moves.'

I love this secret!  I haven't seen High School Musical, so I know neither the words nor the dance moves, but I DO know the words and dance moves to other things.  Awesome secret!

Above and below, it says:  'My mother wanted me to get the HPV vaccine.  She doesn't know I already have Human papillomavirus (HPV).'
In the middle, there's a Gardasil logo with 'TOO LATE' written above it.

Thank you for sharing this, secret Craftster.  I don't know what HPV type you have, but I hope you have great health now and in the future.

'I often think people are judging me when I eat, thinking "She shouldn't be eating THAT!" '

I think this too sometimes, actually.  I feel judged a lot in public, now that I think about it.

'i don't know WHY my secrets bother me so much...
when they're so small and insignificant.'

This is a small card, a little over 3" by 4.25".  I love the smallness and the delicacy and the simplicity of it.  I don't think that a problem IS insignificant if it sincerely bothers you, though; just because your secret might not be a big deal to someone else doesn't invalidate it for you.  And sometimes 'small' problems are the hardest to deal with.

At the top are cuttings from a receipt, and at the bottom is a cutting either from the receipt or a letter: 'Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your friend and companion.  All our cremations are done individually.'
The text says: 'I don't care if people think it's weird.  Cremating my pet was one of the most healing things I've ever done.'

The loss of a pet is horrible.  My heart goes out to you; I know how hard the death of a pet can be.  If cremating your pet helped you, that's all that matters, regardless of how other people feel about it.  Thank you for sending me this secret.
