1  Paper Dress in CHALLENGE 75 ENTRIES by andra.christi on: June 02, 2012 12:41:28 PM
So for this project, I was inspired by one of my friends art projects. In art we had to take something and turn it into something new. So my friend took all painted canvases and turned it into a dress. I loved how it look and I decided that I wanted to do something like that. So when this challenge came up, I knew what I would do.

For the dress I took an old book that was lying around my house and made the top part of the dress from the pages. I used hot glue to glue it together. After I finished the top and it looked how I wanted it to, I took some old magazines and made the skirt part of the dress. I folded and glued on the magazine pages till it looked good. To finish it off added some ribbon around the waist and added a flower made from magazine pages to the back.

Here are some pictures of the finished project.

3  Thread Rack in Completed Projects by andra.christi on: June 28, 2011 08:46:19 AM
I have had a bunch of thread laying around and I needed a way to organize it. The thread racks they sell in crafts stores was like ten dollars and I don't have money like that to buy one so I decided to make one. I had all the supplies except for the skewers and I only spent fifty cents on the skewers so the total cost of the project is fifty cents. Here is the one I made. I really like the way it turned out.

4  Apple Muffins in Recipes and Cooking Tips by andra.christi on: June 22, 2011 08:57:56 AM
Today, I decided to make some apple muffins. Before today, I never heard of apple muffins. But, I had some apples that were going bad, and I didn't want to waist them so I was wondering how I could use them. Then, it came to me to put them in muffins. Here is a recipe that I used.

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/4 cup white sugar
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup milk
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup apple - peeled, cored and chopped

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.
Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon and salt. In a separate bowl, stir together milk, egg and butter. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture just until combined. Fold in chopped apples. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean.

So here are some pictures of the ones I made. I sprinkled a bit of cinnamon on top. They smell and taste delicious! Make some and tell me what you think in a comment.

I was at Joann's and there were patterns on sale for a dollar so I bought some of course. One of the patterns I bought was a pattern for leggings. The pattern was Mccalls m6173. Over on Threadbanger, they did a tutorial for the pattern. The fabric I used was a  black lace that I got for two dollars a yard. Here is a picture.

8  Infinity Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by andra.christi on: June 11, 2011 09:37:16 PM
I took a trip to my local thrift store and purchased all the fabric for only a dollar! After I pinned the fabric around myself and and did some readjusting I began sewing a maxi dress. After a few seam ripping , repining and resewing I finished the dress. It took about four hours total but with some interruptions. Tell me what you think of my finished project!
