1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / How does this sound? on: March 03, 2007 07:46:34 PM
I have a wheel that is not too travel friendly. It doesn't fold, although it is light to carry. I need some way to cover it and bring it with me to guild meetings. I thought of sewing up a bag. But the next morning I saw this in a catalogue.

It will literally fit my wheel, fiber, and other stuff I lug around. All in one bag. On wheels!

What do you think? (Price is not a problem.) I just wanted to bounce this idea off you guys and see what you think. I'm afraid that I'm so happy to find something that I'm not seeing the whole picture.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Striped hat. on: February 22, 2007 01:39:07 PM

I needed a new hat. And finished this just in time for the rain and snow we are getting!

It's a little more masculine than I normally wear, but I like it.

3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / I said I wanted more color. on: February 13, 2007 08:50:49 AM
Boy, did I ever get it.

This roving is from www.dyepot.com.

It's handdyed superwash merino. And BRIGHT! I can't wait to spin it. They are having a sale, go take a look.

The service was superfast and Christina is a sweetie.

No more boring naturals for me for awhile!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Yet another Greenery hat. on: February 13, 2007 08:44:20 AM
I can't stop making these things!  Cheesy

This one was for my mil, for her birthday. It's done in Louet Gems yarn.

The pattern is free, from Lilith Parker's Lair of Lunacy blog.  http://lilithparker.blogspot.com/

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Regine sweater- done! on: February 03, 2007 02:19:23 PM

I've been knitting and spinning alot lately, but nothing has been finished for 2007 until yesterday.

It's a pretty sweater, one that I thought I could wear to a super bowl party. Unfortunately, it's h-u-g-e on me, so I have my first official Christmas gift done. Go me. The sizing issue is all my fault- I swatched, but didn't block it. I also didn't use the recommended yarn. 2 lessons learned.

The pattern is free- check out http://saunshine.blogspot.com/. Her pattern is in her side bar (Regine is the sweater name.)

What next??

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Maryland sheep and wool questions on: January 20, 2007 01:46:25 PM
Hi! I want to make it down to the Maryland sheep and wool fest.

Any idea where to stay down there? Anything else I should see while in the area?

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Greenery Hat on: December 20, 2006 06:44:17 PM
I finished this hat for a friend.

My holiday gifts are officially d-o-n-e.

Yeah, baby.

Sorry for the craptastic photo. lol

Oh, you can get the pattern FREE! It's in the November archives of Lilith Parker's Lair of Lunacy blog.

PS I wanna keep this hat, bad. Really, really bad.
8  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Latest spin, pink! on: December 12, 2006 01:09:22 PM

I'm hoping to spin enough for a small shawl or even a pair of mittens.

I explain all about it in the blog, along with other photos of this and more roving.

I love roving.

Not as much a yarn...yet...but it's a close second.

I'd love to see what everyone else is working on!

9  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / I'm improving. on: December 04, 2006 11:27:50 AM
I'm getting the feel of it. I had issues with too little take up and too much spin, but after an adjustment or two, it's better.

Days 1-3:

And beautiful gray roving:

I wish that I had specific questions to ask, but so far I'm figuring it all out. I haven't tried any of my "good" roving yet and I haven't tried to ply. Those are next. I'm hoping to have  a friend over Thursday night and go from there.

I also need a niddy noddy. Any ideas for a cheap/quick homemade one??

Thanks for the welcome.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Green mittens for my BIL on: November 22, 2006 12:33:39 PM
Another holiday project down-

I finished green acrylic mittens for my brother in law. His hands are huge!

They went quick though. They were done on 2 size 8 circular needles using Utopia yarn.
