11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Traveling Little Visitor Swap Round 25 Gallery on: June 16, 2017 01:47:05 PM
Sorry I haven't posted lately, I'm having issues with Craftster and the ads on the photos (which is a bug, not supposed to happen) seriously messing with my dinosaur of a phone. And I apologize in advance for what I know will be sideways photos, and for any weird formatting (just typed an entire sentence that never appeared, maybe it will be inserted somewhere odd in the post...).

Baking cookies!

Game night!

Bellydance picnic (it was quite warm!)

(Cyndi from Irie Tribal)

Picnic grub!

And then a random "how big are these grapes?!" picture, because they were seriously huge...

I submitted 3 more (and 2 throwbacks!).  I have one more I could submit, but I'm feeling too lazy to take pictures.  It's just a zap, but... I need to do it.

RedheadWithThread, I feel your pain on the seamripping!  I once sewed a quilt block together wrong, then ripped it out, then sewed it back together wrong THE EXACT SAME WAY... then ripped it out, then sewed it wrong a different way... Fun times, fun times.  But the purse looks FANTASTIC and is so worth it!

Project Picture:

Prompt: Throwback 1
Team:  Textbook
Project Name:  NPWW Centerpiece
Brief Description: A long time ago, we used to make centerpieces for the tables for National Public Works Week.  This is the first one I made, and the team made... I wanna say 30 or more of them.  Squeezie house, cut out "river" in insulation board glued to matt board, toy cars, custom traffic signals, and a background made in CAD and printed out.

Project Picture:

Prompt: Throwback 2
Team:  Textbook
Project Name:  NPWW Centerpiece #2 - Game of Public Works
Brief Description: A long time ago, we used to make centerpieces for the tables for National Public Works Week.  This is the second one I made, and the team made... I wanna say 30 or more of them.  Squeezie house (again), a background made in CAD and printed out, playing cards, traffic signs, and ninety bajillion crayon erasers decapitated for the game tokens.  Oh, and origami boxes with stickers to store the pieces in.  This was the last year we did it, they decided to cut that budget and now it's just elementary school kids colored pages.

What amazing packages!  This really is a great swap.  Cheesy

I received from roler!  And she spoiled me and did an amazing job!

So, let me apologize for the quality of these pictures... my phone is ancient and anything less than sunlight means not great pictures.  I held them up against the wall next to a halogen lamp, and this is still the best I could do.  Probably doesn't help that my rooms are dark blue, forest green, and maroon... mostly I like living in a dark cave, it's just not great for photos!

So, first up, a science hoop!  I love science, and I love chemistry, and this is perfect.  The little beaded bubbles are adorable!  And the background both matches my wall and my nails... Cheesy

Then an itty bitty pi!  Pi is one of my favorite things of all time!  And this is one of the cutest pis ever!

******

If I can digress from this swap package for a moment, I need to say that on pi day I hung the banner I got from SBC in the last Nerd Games swap on our counter and it got soooo many compliments!  At first I was bummed it didn't show up in the picture as well as it did in person, but... look at the shadow!

******

So the next person who gets me in a Nerd Games swap, well, you know how much I love pi!  And numbers in general, which is why this fabric that roler sent... seriously, how unbelievably amazing is that?!

I'm pretty sure I'm going to make a reusable grocery bag out of it, one because I could use it and look at it alllll the time, and two because I'm pretty sure I won't mess it up since I'm pretty good at that particular pattern by now.

Thank you sooooo much, roler, you are an amazing swap partner and I hope you like your package from me half as much!  Cheesy
20  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: I used a spinning wheel! on: May 30, 2017 05:14:14 PM
Thanks, everyone!  I can't imagine ever getting to the point of consistent yarn, but stranger things have happened... Cheesy

I am trying to institute a "clean a little every day" so I can get a spot for a spinning wheel, but it's so hard to motivate myself when I get home from work, I just want to vegg out and craft and watch TV...  And that's how my craft room turned into the tip it currently is!  Cheesy
