1  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Secret Santa-in-July Wishlist Swap - Sendouts by 8/1/18 on: July 15, 2018 04:50:41 PM
I've made things/found supply packages for like, three people I haven't claimed because I haven't make it to the post office yet.  ARGH!  I started a new workout routine and I'm just so exhausted when I get home I don't even want to pack things up.  But I will, SOON, and move on to even more claims, I promise!

I did finally get some sewing in at a friend's house and have FINALLY completed my first, original claim. Yay!

Okay, I've broken back into my Flickr account, and think I have it working (boy have they made changes since the last time I used it!).

On Friday I received an awesome pumpkin mailer...

And what could be inside?!

An AMAZING pumpkin-themed bracelet!  I wish the picture showed how truly sparkly and lovely it is, but it doesn't do it justice!  And I wanted to get a picture of it on, but it's really hard to take a picture of a bracelet on your own arm!  It fits just fine, though, Secret Santa!  Thanks, I ADORE it!

And then today...  More pumpkiny goodness!  A two sided pumpkin pouch from BigBangMomma!  (She signed it, I'm not that clever to figure it out!).  And no, I'd not heard the quote but I love it!  Again, these pictures don't do justice, the fabric is bright and awesome and there's gold in the little pumpkin appliques!

And there were goodies inside the pouch!  A very interesting note/origami pad, and ephemera including... PUMPKINS!

Thank you so much, it's AMAZING!  I can't wait to use the papers, and I know the pouch will shortly be put to very good use!

Now I need to get busy and send, I haven't had time to wrap or get to the post office, but I've made more things than I've officially claimed, so hopefully I'll get some things moving a little more quickly now that work is less stressful... for the moment...
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Traveling Little Visitor Swap Round 27 Gallery! on: July 06, 2018 06:28:46 PM
Hm, I need to find a way to post actual pictures, but Darth is still doing fine.  It's been stupidly busy at work, and insanely hot, so we haven't done a lot other than craft and game.  Another CAF event this weekend, more volunteering at puppy adoptions, and another blood drive coming up next week, though, with hopefully a slowdown at work that will give me some breathing room!

I got an AMAZING pumpkin-themed bracelet loaded with charms and beads today!  Made my day after a really hard week.  I'm going to try to find a way to upload some pictures, I think I have an old Flickr account I need to remember how to get into...

But thank you, secret santa, it is AWESOME!

Um, this is embarrassing...

I made something that someone had on their pinterest (on some board) and... forgot to note who that person was.  Now I have a thing and I can't find who it was!  Argh!  This is what I get for making before claiming!  I'm going to spend the next hour trying to comb through everyone's pinterests again... *sigh*

I finished one thing, might try to do an extra, but it requires sewing... as do a lot of the claims I want to make.  So I'll probably make things *before* I claim, to make sure I can.  Our weather is supposed to get super-hot, though, so I might have to wait until I can have a craft night at a friend's house and just spend 5-6 hours sewing up a storm.  Cheesy

*the why, if you don't know - my dog hates the sound of my sewing machine, and not only do I not want to distress her, but having a 60lb dog jumping around near an iron is just dangerous (especially since it's set up to tabletop height!) so I only sew when she's outside (by her choice - on nice days, she stays out most of the time and only runs in to get water now and then).

Argh, I've gone through and made lists of the things I can make for everyone, but need to wait until the weekend to go through my stash/pattern/figure out what I can actually make!  But I promise I'll start claiming soon!

Ooooh, time to start combing through the lists to see what I can make...  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Hi, I'm Michelle, I live in Kansas (USA) with a husband and a dog.  I am allergic to hemp fibers and oils, so nothing with that in it, please.  We celebrate a completely non-religious Christmas, aka "Santa Day".  Cute Christmas things (reindeer, penguins, etc) are fine, nothing religious please!

Things you could make me:

Shopping bags!  In part to be environmentally friendly, in part because these things are awesome and can hold tons and I always get compliments.  And I can never have too many... https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=177482.0

I need a dog walking bag.  I have no link to anything, but what I need is a cross-body, open-top bag big enough for a leash, tennis ball, bag of treats, and waste disposal bags.  Also an outside pocket for my phone, and a plastic-lined compartment for... used waste-disposal bags would be nice.  Preferably in dog-themed fabric, just because.

Double-pointed knitting needle holders: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/272045633717327348/ (I made myself one and loooooove it and need more!)

These are ones I've made for other people that I'd really love to have a version of (it's so much easier to make things for other people, isn't it?):

Ones I would really like:

Original Artwork - I have a pinboard that shows kinda what I like: https://www.pinterest.com/smeddley/art-i-like/

PUMPKIN ALL THE THINGS!  Every year from Oct 1 - Thanksgiving I feature a pumpkin thing a day on my Instagram/Facebook (if you'd like to see 2016's PATT, my Instagram is: https://www.instagram.com/smeddleys/ ... 2015's is only on my FB page).  This does include pumpkin spice foods, but I've already "reviewed" a lot of those - unless you can find CVS's purported PS cough crops or Walgreen's PS gum, which I've never seen.  I still need some for this year and I'd like next year to be all crafted pumpkin goodness!

Shark things!  Next to PATT, Shark Week is one of my favorite times of the year - both Shark Weeks, the official, science-y one, and the bad monster movie SyFy one.

Anything on any of my boards marks "swap inspirations" : https://www.pinterest.com/smeddley/ - some of the stuff on the other boards I pinned for other people, or because I planned on making it for a specific use (that may be O.B.E. (overcome by events)), but the stuff on these boards is all stuff I like and would want for me.

Things that could be made or purchased, depending on your crafting skill set:
Spinny yarn thingee
Hair sticks
Drop Spindle
Journals/Junk Journals/Fabric Journals

Supplies I can never have enough of:
Crochet hooks and knitting needles
Stitch markers, both crochet and knitting
Safety eyes, all sized
Fiber for spinning/needle felting
Art Stencils
Ephemera for art/journaling
Art supplies of all types
Elastic (especially wide, for knitting needle holders)
Clay molds and tools
Origami paper, especially squares for cranes and strips for stars

Charity crafting!

I volunteer at Ray of Hope, which hosts dog (and cat) adoption events at Petsmart every weekend.  https://www.facebook.com/Ray-of-Hope-KCK-1646910742241793/ Things we need/use:
Dog toys (or, alternatively, fleece for me to bake box braid dog tugs!)
Candy (we have a candy bowl we set out for people)
Dog treats (sometimes the only way to keep them quiet, small training treats are great)
Dog brushes (these are animal control dogs, and don't get bathed/brushed often)
Waterless dog shampoo (see above)
Gift cards to Petsmart/Target to buy the above mentioned supplies (we share a parking lot with a Target, so convenience!)

I also volunteer at the Commemorative Air Force (Heart of America wing) and they keep vintage airplanes flying.  They have a ST-19 and a Stearman bi-plane (I know next to nothing about planes, but my very good friends are super-involved)
Anything plane-themed to auction off at their annual dance or to sell at Open Hangar Days

Abandoned Art!
I love abandoning art, so anything you want abandoned in this area is fine by me!  I will say that there are two things I've done in the past:
Operation Beautiful/Inspirational ATCs - I tend to leave these in libraries and in library books, bookmarks would also work!
Painted rocks - a middle school nearby puts them out in a part and invites others to do so, I like to think they are happy and excited when others do!  Plus I've had fun doing them.  I get that this is literally shipping rocks, but hey, flat rate box?  Cheesy

I know this a huge list, kudos if you got to the bottom of it, I'd give you a cookies if I could!  Thanks for looking!  Cheesy

Urgh, bummer about the photo uploading.

And I'm so sorry about your kitty, PFD, losing a pet is dreadfully hard.

Darth has done a few interesting things, we went to the library book sale, the bellydancer picnic, volunteering at pet adoptions, books club... mostly same old same old for around here, it's been way to hot to do too much lately, and work has been crazy, but here's hoping for some slightly cooler weather!
