Okay, time for some projects!

Prompt: June - Refusal of the Call
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: N/A
Project Name: Elephant
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: This pattern was fiddly and annoying and had SO MANY different pieces.  Plus, I felt like I couldn't get the ears to be mirror images, and I just got annoyed with it.  It was for a friend, and in the end I think it worked out okay, but I definitely won't be making it again!
Project Picture:

Prompt: June - Meeting the Mentor
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: Swaptastic
Project Name: Guinea Pig Snuggle Sack
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: For the Secret Santa swap, I used this YouTube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LOF5aWaBrA  And I do not have a guinea pig, so I had to improvise for the picture... Wink
Project Picture:

Prompt: July - The Meeting with the Goddess
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: Swaptastic
Project Name: Fruit Shopping Bags
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: For the Secret Santa swap - again, and I again I had to improvise with the picture as I didn't have fruit on hand...  but I did have balls of yarn!  Someone gave me a huge bag of yarn including a giant cone of cotton that was perfect for these bags!
Project Picture:

Prompt: July - Atonement with the Father/Abyss
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: N/A
Project Name: LifeBook Art
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: I keep plugging away at the old Lifebook lessons in the vain HOPE that one day I will finish, as well as the HOPE that practice will get me to improve, and one day it won't loo like the girl was smashed in the face with a board and the bunny is (understandably) drunk...
Project Picture:

Prompt: July - Apotheosis
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: N/A
Project Name: LifeBook Art
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: I'm really starting to learn how to use watercolors, and this is probably my favorite (best?) painting I've done to date.  I think it's pretty advanced, anyway!
Project Picture:

Prompt: August - Refusal of the Return
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: N/A
Project Name: LifeBook Art
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: Another page for my Lifebook!
Project Picture:

Prompt: August - The Magic Flight
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: N/A
Project Name: LifeBook Art
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: This is something I know a friend of mine will love, and I might have to draw another feather to send to her, but it took SO. LONG. to do all that shading!
Project Picture:

Prompt: August - Recuse from Without
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: N/A
Project Name: T-shirt mods
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: Sorry it's a horrible picture!  I added side panels to 4 of my husband's old t-shirts to fit around my rear, to use with leggings for working out.  I did this at my friend's house for two reasons - one, the sewing machine drives my dog nuts so she lets me come over to her house to sew, and two, she knows more about sewing and really helped me with the stretchy fabric.  And now I have 4 upcycled shirts to work out in!
Project Picture:

Prompt: August - Master of Two Worlds
Team: Anti-Heroes
Bonus Points: Swaptastic
Project Name: Fairy Door ATC
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: For the Grumbacher ATC swap, fairies are one of my favorite fantasy characters!

I received two packages yesterday!  And one was just in time...

I had to stop at the grocery store, and didn't have a bag in my car!!! This came in so handy, and it's very well-made and sturdy (that's two half-gallons of milk in there!).

A better shot of the bag:

And then!  A package FULL of beads!!!

I can't wait to start making some stuff, there are so many cool beads and the possibilities are endless...

Thank you, secret santas!!

The up side of having packages delivered to work - they don't get stolen or rained on.  The down side? When you leave work early and don't get your package until Monday!

And this might be the most underwhelming photo of a truly awesome swap package...  but there's not a lot of ways to make it look less less bags of fur...  because it's bags of ALPACA neatly combed and rolled and ready for spinning!!!

A tooooooooooon of it. *squeeee*

Thank you so much!!!

I also got a lovely tag from quaggy, but set the envelope safe and away from the food I was eating at my desk and then...  accidentally left it at work and don't have a picture. Sad  Soon! It will be safe there. Smiley

You are super-awesome! Thank you!

I got a lovely package yesterday and wasn't able to post because I didn't get home until... after my bedtime.  On a work night, no less!  But I'm definitely getting it up today, because it is AWESOME and I already feel guilty about waiting...

And ROUS!  The note said it's a pincushion, but can I stab such a cutie?  I do love that movie, but I have a sad moment when it sounds like the ROUS is actually speaking and I feel bad for it...

SEE?!  CUTIE!!!

And then...

A wee little openable pumpkin!  Will be featured in PATT 2018 (Pumpkin All The Things).

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!  A Shark Hat!  No action shot because I looked horrible today, but I wore it around the office and annoyed everyone by crouching just below monitor level and humming the Jaws theme while running the fin across the top of their monitors... (if that makes sense described that way?)

And if THAT ALL wasn't enough...

Guava candy (which is delightfully amazing, btw), shark and pumpkin stickers, SHARK FABRIC!!!, and pumpkin treats for the puppers!

Thank you so much, this package is so above and beyond!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Also, your note made me go awwwwwww, shucks.  Cheesy

Yay for being able to post pictures again! I don't remember where I left off, so here are just a few random pics...

It's Shark Week!!!

Someone brought doughnuts to the office and I got the bacon one - it was a little disappointing, the bacon wasn't as salty or bacon-y as it should have been.

Beak and Wings was out at the last Open Hangar Days, and we met some birdies.

The Funnel Cake Truck came to work!

Belly dance picnic!

We're not doing a ton of stuff, it's still been so hot and miserable and since we're still short a person at work that's been too busy. :/ But there's been a lot of food and just hanging out!

Okay, I've broken back into my Flickr account, and think I have it working (boy have they made changes since the last time I used it!).

On Friday I received an awesome pumpkin mailer...

Pumpkin Mailer by ahoym8ty, on Flickr

And what could be inside?!

Pumpkin Bracelet by ahoym8ty, on Flickr

An AMAZING pumpkin-themed bracelet!  I wish the picture showed how truly sparkly and lovely it is, but it doesn't do it justice!  And I wanted to get a picture of it on, but it's really hard to take a picture of a bracelet on your own arm!  It fits just fine, though, Secret Santa!  Thanks, I ADORE it!

And then today...  More pumpkiny goodness!  A two sided pumpkin pouch from BigBangMomma!  (She signed it, I'm not that clever to figure it out!).  And no, I'd not heard the quote but I love it!  Again, these pictures don't do justice, the fabric is bright and awesome and there's gold in the little pumpkin appliques!

Pumpkin Pouch 1 by ahoym8ty, on Flickr

Pumpkin Pouch 2 by ahoym8ty, on Flickr

And there were goodies inside the pouch!  A very interesting note/origami pad, and ephemera including... PUMPKINS!

Pumpkin Pouch Ephemera by ahoym8ty, on Flickr

Thank you so much, it's AMAZING!  I can't wait to use the papers, and I know the pouch will shortly be put to very good use!

Now I need to get busy and send, I haven't had time to wrap or get to the post office, but I've made more things than I've officially claimed, so hopefully I'll get some things moving a little more quickly now that work is less stressful... for the moment...

Nice poem, gozer!  I'm stressed about that one, my default is silly and sarcastic, so it's going to be hard.  Why oh why were limericks ruled out?!  Cheesy

I'm going to start with an easier one!

Level Up - Textbook Level 1

Pattern #1 - Fierce Little Dragon
I've made this pattern a few times, here's one example... I really adore this pattern.

Pattern: https://heavens-hellcat.livejournal.com/807.html

Pattern #2 - Ami Fox
I had this fox as a Little Visitor, and thought he was adorable.  Lo and behold, I found the pattern!  I've made many for friends (who also loved my Little Visitor) and for the STS as custom Amis.

Pattern: https://nimoe.wordpress.com/2008/02/03/fox-amigurumi-pattern/

Pattern #3 - Crochet bird
I've made this one a few time, it's simple and fun.

Pattern: https://limegreenlady.wordpress.com/2015/03/20/crochet-bird-pattern/

Pattern #4 - Linguini Bunny from Outer Space
I've only made one of these , but the name stuck with me and it's definitely on my "to make again" list.

Pattern: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=346637.0

Pattern #5 - Little Red and Wolf:
I made these and they were a Nerd Games raffle prize, I really liked the pattern!

Pattern: http://mybackyardmonsters.tumblr.com/post/31480559904/little-red-pattern

Bonus Pattern - Chicken
I love this chicken pattern, but it had to be translated.  Thank goodness for Google Translate and the people who have put together lists of crochet abbreviations in other languages!

9  Dory Blood Drop (pattern included) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Smeddley on: May 31, 2018 06:18:46 PM

Another in the line of my character-themed blood drop squeezies for use during blood donations (no paper-towel wrapped half a rubber ball for me!  Or anyone in my workplace that donates, I make these for anyone who gives.  This one was a custom order for a new employee who threw herself into workplace activities - she adopted a dog at an event and gave blood, all within the first two months!)

The pattern:

Start off with a Bob:

Size F Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn

Round 1: SC 4 in magic Ring (or, ch 2 and sc 4 in second ch from hook).  Join {sl st to first SC, ch1}
Round 2: SC in each st, join (4)
Round 3: *SC in first st, 2 SC in next st* repeat from *, join (6)
Round 4: *SC in first st, 2 SC in next st* repeat from *, join (9)
Round 5: *SC in first st, 2 SC in next st* repeat from * to last st, sc in last st, join  (13)
Round 6: SC in each st, join (13)
Round 7: *SC in first two st, 2 SC in next st* repeat from * to last st, sc in last st, join (17)
Round 8: SC in each st, join (17)
Round 9: *SC in first two st, 2 SC in next st* repeat from * to last 2 st, sc in last 2 st, join (22)
Round 10: SC in each st, join (22)
Round 11: *SC in first st, 2 SC in next st* repeat from *, join (33)
Rounds 12-20: SC in each st, join (33)
(I usually put the eyes in now!)
Rounds 21-23: *SC in first st, SC 2tog* repeat from *, join
(stuff-as-you-go decreases)
Round 24: SC 2tog
(Cram as much stuffing as you can in as youre closing him up, remember, hes there to be squeezed so he needs to be fairly firm.)
Fasten off.

Side Fins:

Start with Blue
Row 1: Ch 3, turn
Row 2: SC in 2nd ch from hook and in last ch (2)
Row 3: SC, inc (3)
Row 4: SC, SC, inc (4)
Change to black
Row 5: SC (4)
Row 6: inc, SC, SC, inc (6)
Change to yellow
Row 7: SC (6)
Row 8: inc, 4 SC, inc ( 8 )

Back fin:

I tried a few different fins for the back, mostly I wasn't happy with the black.  The one on the left was too long, the one in the middle was crocheted from base to tip, and then the black was crocheted down the edges, but it didn't look even, and the one on the right is the one I used.  If I'm honest, I think she looks fine with just the side fins and that would be my preference.

Row 1: In black, Ch 10
Row 2: SC in second ch from hook and in remaining 8 ch (9)
Switch to yellow
Row 3: 3 SC, 3 HDC, 3 DC, ch 2, turn, (9)
Row 4: 3 DC, 3 HDC, 3 SC, ch 1, turn, (9)
Row 5: 3 SC, 3 HDC, 3 DC (9)
Switch to black
Row 6: SC (9)

Aaaaaaand, so together!
