Definitely a monster EXPLOSION!  They're all so cute and look like they'd be super cuddly.  The kind of thing you just want to pile up and snuggle under Cheesy

They'd make good, sturdy outdoor items like cushions, pillows, or a picnic blanket.  You'd be able to bleach or sun stains out easily since they're white.  You could also sew up tote bags, reusable shopping bags, pet beds, or something like a furniture slipcover.  I could see the 18x18 napkins as heavy-duty totes with embroidery or stenciling on them Smiley
13  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / SO MANY PLASTIC BAGS!!! on: August 09, 2013 04:09:18 PM
So, I'm participating in the Annual Destash-Along and recently discovered a huge box of plastic bags.  Unused ones I probably stored away when I had an Etsy and made totes with them.

Now, I need to know what to do with everything.  I have plenty of totes and I don't know who I can give them to.  I considered making a few homeless plarn mats (http://crochet-with-cris.blogspot.com/2012/01/charitable-crochet-sleeping-mats-for.html) but I can't seem to find anywhere local or outside my area accepting donations.  I am moving cross-country in about 2 months and I really need to get these things gone!

Ideas?  I have about 1,000 of them to use up!

Those are darling!!!

Aren't they?  I was gushing to hubs about what a cute little bum Baby Boy will have and he was like, "They are cute, but you know they'll be filled with sticky s**t most of the time."  Way to rain on my parade Tongue

CLM, that little dog is so cute!

SenatorOrgana, I love the zipper pouch -- great color set Smiley

I started out the month crafting like crazy, but we've had a bit of a heat spell and now I don't want to do anything but sit around.  And Baby Boy has decided that he likes using my lungs as his pillows  Huh

But I've got almost a day's worth of newborn/small cloth diapers finished and a bunch of stash used.  I love the bug print fabric; I was sad to see I only had one fat quarter of it and the diaper used most of it.

I also finished a 14x14" granny square for the Snuggles Project, got started on a larger one, and cut/pinned some jersey knit I found for a maxi dress.  Btw, I hate working with that stuff  Undecided

Smiley  Glad you got some inspiration, dulcet!  I am in the same boat of wanting to use up my stash but not have a ton of "stuff" laying around.  Whatever hubs and I can't fit into four suitcases has to be shipped or left behind come October 9th, so unless it's baby boy things I'm really getting picky about what we keep.  Charity projects seemed perfect since I've already given family tons of crocheted gifts.

And speaking of stash...well, I thought I had a handle on what supplies I had and what should be done with them.  BUT, while searching under my bed for a lost shoe I discovered a box and a huge duffel bag full of supplies.  One is yarn and fabric and the other is about 40-50 pounds of unused plastic grocery bags.  DH used to work at Wal-Mart and brought me the box because it was "damaged" in some way or another and they were going to throw it out.  I used some to make plarn tote bags, but that was when I had an Etsy...

Anybody want a plarn tote bag?   Grin

Dulcet -- have you thought about making charity projects?  I'm in the same boat with a lot of my crafting.  I pulled out my bin of scrap yarn last night and started working on a granny square blanket for the Snuggles Project.  I'm going to try using up my pink baby yarn for some items for Newborns In Need, Inc.  The S.P.E.W. Craftalong has a lot of great ideas!

Those quilt-y cards are so pretty!

I have had an idea to crochet some weather-related mobile items for a while, so maybe I'll get on that for this month's theme.  Clouds, raindrops, and a rainbow would be pretty cute and I think it'd use up a good number of scraps.

Now I just have to find a pattern since I suck at making my own.

CLM, that facial mask sounds divine.  Awesome work destashing!

I got started on some more diapers.  Doing them assembly-line style so I really need to restock my stash of elastic and snaps.  But, I have used up several fat quarters, a roll of thread, about 3 yards of flannel, and an old towel that I had sitting around to upcycle.  Next is my bamboo fabric and fleece.

CLM, that's definitely some great destashing and recycling.  I also hate throwing out little bits and bobs.  It took a lot of self-discipline to toss out the bucket of scraps I had collected after my recent diaper-sewing binge.

Speaking of which, I thought I'd share a photo of one I'd made recently.  I was able to complete 3 before running out of elastic and metal snaps.  I've got a stack of cuts pinned and waiting to be sewn and another that's sewn but needs the finishing touches.
