Super! Love those!
1592  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Fiver's Scrapbook and Sheet Protector - two finished quilts! on: September 16, 2012 08:06:29 AM
I've been admiring those polaroid quilts for a while now. Yours looks wonderful! I love the colors for the other one. I may have to steal that idea to use the wrong side of blacks for grays. Genius!

1594  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Bento swap r5--Found! 1 angel on: September 15, 2012 08:04:49 AM
Puamelia is angeling. Thank you!

Winter83 is located in the US. This swap was for 3 points worth of crafted, bento-themed goods (see first 2 posts in the discussion thread for more info and helpful links) PLUS at least 2 store-bought bento items. The amount to be spent was to be decided with partners. Here is what winter83 sent her partner: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=412895.msg4891389#msg4891389
I would like an angel who could send within 2 weeks. Winter has waited a long time!

From questionnaire:

What bento supplies to you currently own? (boxes, sauce containers, bag, etc. List any details you feel your partner might've need to know.) None I am a Bento noob

What bento supplies would you like to receive? (boxes, sauce containers, bags, etc. List any details you feel your partner might need to know.) I could use beginner stuff! Also I'm really big on my food not touching and keep flavors separated so little containers for that would be awesome.

Anything you would rather not receive?

What is your bento style? (detailed landscapes, plopping things in, it depends on the day...) Will be simple things I make for myself.

What colors, patterns and themes do you like? Purple! Purple and green together. Paisley patterns, jewel tones, and patterns and things that lots of people think are gaudy.
And shiny things.
Any colors, patterns and themes you really dont like? Yellow

Do you have a wist, pinterest or similar? http://pinterest.com/jenbrown1983/   http://www.wists.com/winter83/
Lots of other places for stalking see profile

Anything else youd like your partner to know?
I like Tare Panda and Hello Kitty stuff.

I would like to know what kind of characters do you like or do you prefer a more grown up classy bento.

I think it's perfect! As the recipient of this beauty, I can attest to its excellent construction and stellar fabric and design choices. Thanks again, ShannonMN!

I just got home and what did I find waiting for me?

Goodies from texscrapper! She made 2 lovely pillow covers to feed my addiction to them with some scrumptious autumnal fabric. I love the sunflowers, the colors and the mottled, whimsical background. It reminds me of Halloween! (Lots of things remind me of Halloween, especially around this time of year).

Thanks bunches, texscrapper!

The shape of that scarf is amazing! I love that! Silentblair, that was a stroke of genius.

Quaggy, those lego stitch markers are super-cool! Between them and silentblair's scarf, I almost want to try knitting again. Almost  Smiley .

1599  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Macaroon Coin Purses: Baseball, Olympics, FMA on: September 09, 2012 08:15:29 AM
like i said on the swap board, that baseball purse is AMAZING (and, let me add again, UNLIKE the NY Mets Sad).
but wow on these other! i don't know what it is about the British flag that gets me and so many others.

how hard is it to sew a zipper in the round? im shaking my head here at the computer thinking pretty tough!

Thank you, susanab!
(BTW, my local team is the Mariners. Look them up and their past, oh, 11 seasons, to feel better about the Mets  Tongue )

The tutorial suggests gathering the zipper fabric then sewing it on, but I found it much easier to skip that part and use the little lines woven into the zipper as a guide of where to stitch. It was actually very easy!

I love that little macaroon purse!  And I love that you turned it into a baseball, Calabaza!
Oh, thanks! And thanks susanab and johnson.mom2two too  Smiley They're great fun and so easy to personalize! I posted some more on here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=413963.0 There's just so much that can be done with a little round surface.
