11  The Whole Totoro Family! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by jcy-works on: July 01, 2010 12:44:44 AM
Has anyone watched Toy Story 3 movie yet?  A friend of mine who watched it already told me that there's a Totoro in the movie!  Totoro's my favorite anime character out of all the films I've watched  Smiley.  A couple of weeks ago, I crocheted out all three sizes of Totoro!  Since it happens to be one of the characters appearing in Toy Story 3, I thought I'd post my completed projects up before the movie gets taken out of the theatre.

Anddddddd here they are! (I tried to re-create the scene where Mei follows the tiny- and medium-sized Totoros into the tree trunk and meets the large Totoro.  Unfortunately I was too lazy to crochet Mei out... I'll post pictures up if I do get a chance to crochet her out! Cheesy)

Front view:

More pictures of my Totoros on my blog if anyone's interested in seeing more of them!!

PS. I'll be watching the Toy Story movie on Friday~~ Excited!! hehe Grin  But please don't spoil it if any of you have already watched it!

12  Pinky Monkeys - A Day at the Garden (lots of pictures) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by jcy-works on: June 08, 2010 02:05:05 PM
Hi everyone! I finished making a set of monkeys last month and decided to post them up on craftster and include a storyline for them! I also sewed them some clothes using some pieces of jean fabrics that I found at home. Smiley

Here's the storyline:

Discovering a couple of bananas on a tree, Fresh monkey decided to grab one for Pinky monkey.

Pinky monkey sits comfortably as she watches Fresh monkey climb the ladder.

"I see it!!"

He reaches for the cluster of bananas...

... "Got it!!"

Feeling delighted, Pinky monkey rushes over to Fresh monkey.

Back at home...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My name is Joey and this is my first post!  Pinky monkey and Fresh monkey are actually mascots of a Japanese candy known as "Pinky".  I once owned a Pinky plush which I hung on the pencil bag I use for school.  However, I accidentally lost it during a visit to a library on campus and never managed to find it back.  To brighten myself up, I decided to crochet a Pinky monkey myself!  Unfortunately, the size of the monkey I crocheted ended up being a little too big for my pencil bag...

Hope everyone liked my story!

You can see more pictures of my Pinky monkeys on my flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcy-works/.
