31  Moon Phase Scarf in Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects by MissingWillow on: January 01, 2017 10:52:42 AM
I got out my embroidery machine to make a few holiday gifts this year, including this moon phase winter scarf.  The material is a very soft wool blend.  My original plan was to make it into an infinity scarf but it wouldn't lay right so I went to plan B.   Smiley

Mistress Jennie sent my daughter Claire the cutest ornaments!  A cute scrappy Ravenclaw owl and a Battle of Hogwarts ornament.  I love the crystal she added at the bottom.

In addition, she sent me some really great crafty extras!  Twine, ribbon, gift bag, paper chain kit, the cutest little house tin and CHOCOLATE!

Thanks so much, Jennie!!!

33  Chocolate Frog Wizard Card Ornaments in Winter Holidays by MissingWillow on: December 13, 2016 02:07:58 PM
I sent these as extras for my partners in the Harry Potter Holidays swap this year.  Chocolate frog cards featuring one of their favorite wizards.  I found the card templates online.  The hardest part was cutting out the window where I secured the wizard photos.    Cheesy

So sorry to hear about your family's sadness, Edel.

I sent one of the chocolate frog card ornaments, some store bought and homemade popcorn toppings (because she had a request for some in her Craftster signature  Smiley ) and a Harry Potter tea party ornament (because Edel loves miniatures).  I made the cookies from poly clay.

My turn to post some truly lovely Harry Potter gifties.  I'm about to explode the gallery, sorry in advance.   Cheesy

EdelC sent me some fun extras.  I do this swap on behalf of my daughter every year but I'm not passing on chocolate from Ireland!  She's not getting the mushrooms, either because I'm in the middle of a project that they'll be perfect for.   Smiley

She is gonna love the time turner.  Seriously.

She's started a Harry Potter Christmas tree, this 'always' patronus ornament is just gorgeous!

Thank you so much, Edel!  You're going to make Claire very happy this Christmas.

Pottermouth sent some of her miniature magic here...  "Anything from the trolley, dears?"  It's the Honeydukes Express!

Everywhere you look is something new to discover.

There are lollypops, jelly slugs, candy wands, white chocolate owls and chocolate frogs everywhere.

Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans and sweets of all kinds.

A cauldron cake nestled amongst the jelly candies.

Scabbers is resting next to some pumpkin pasties!

Drooble's Best Blowing Gum next to some sugar quills!

You totally outdid yourself, Pottermouth.  Thank you so much!  I actually considered making her one of these myself.  This is so much better!   Cheesy

You ladies both are so awesome, thank you!

36  Miniature Wicked Fireplace in Completed Projects by MissingWillow on: October 27, 2016 09:46:10 AM
This little miniature was based off of a full size decorated mantle I found while cruising Pinterest.  The owl is sculpted out of polymer clay and there's a potion brewing in the fireplace.  Thanks for looking!  Angry

37  Moon Gazing Bunny Shrine in Completed Projects by MissingWillow on: October 27, 2016 09:38:14 AM
I made this little moon-gazing bunny in a pumpkin patch shrine for Killam Creative (thanks for the use of your photo!).  I've had that little porcelain rabbit since 1971.  I got it at the emporium in Disney World when it first opened. I made the little moon in our pottery studio.

38  Primitive Witch Doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by MissingWillow on: October 20, 2016 01:10:00 PM
My partner in the Mini 13 Days of Halloween Swap had an art doll listed on her questionnaire.  I considered this a challenge since I'm not really a doll or toymaker but decided it wasn't going to defeat me.   Cheesy  She also listed witches as a favorite so I knew the direction I was headed.  I found a pattern by Stacey Mead for a primitive witch named Goode Pumpernickel and her cat named Soot.  This was quite a challenge and I learned a few new techniques, including dyeing muslin with coffee.  Her hair is made with yarn I repurpopsed from a yarn ponytail I made years ago.  I painted a heart shaped 'tattoo' on her bum but forgot to take a photo of it.   Smiley  Thanks for looking!

39  Re: Chunky Houses Halloween Edition 7 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by MissingWillow on: October 20, 2016 12:07:36 PM
Here are my last two houses.  The one on the left is from Aisy.  I have the exact same paper that she used, but she used it better than I ever have!  The moon makes me smile.   Smiley  The one on the right is from SonjaBoo and it's adorable!  Love the sparkly striped tights.  Thanks so much to you both and Happy Halloween everyone!

I received this truly spooky house from irid3sc3nt.  I love the shape, the contrast between the wood grain and the writing, the shape of the windows, the faint glow in the belfry... everything about it!

Everyone is doing a great job interpreting their partner's themes.  The Harry Potter houses are so clever!  I need to remember to put that on my questionnaire for next year.
