231  Yarn Bowl in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by MissingWillow on: March 11, 2013 05:10:22 AM
I just completed the most recent round of Invite Your Partner with LimeRiot.  I worked from her pinterest board, which featured some 'please make this for me' items.   I found a few yarn bowls there, and was inspired to make one for her.  It's the largest piece I've ever thrown (I'm a newbie), I love the color.

Here's an action shot of the bowl at Lime's house.  Thanks so much for letting me use your photo!

I received from koalascout, she sent me five instead of four FQ!  I now have cupcakes, fruit, Mickey Mouse, chocolate and Georgia to add to my stash.  There were also some drink mix packets that are now history. (yum!)

Thanks so much, koalascout!

233  Re: Beatrice's Cowl & Socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by MissingWillow on: March 08, 2013 03:35:21 AM
I can't tell you how special it is to own something from my special girl's wool, especially something I can wear!  The socks are beautiful and super warm, the cowl is just toasty perfection.  So expertly made!  You're a talented knitter LimeRiot and I'm a lucky gal!

Here's a shot of Beatrice.  She's a texel in case anyone's curious.

234  A Winter Garden in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by MissingWillow on: March 06, 2013 04:54:40 PM
I thought I'd share our winter gardening efforts.  Here's one of two garlic beds we planted in October. We have peas, lettuce, carrots and spinach planted in other exterior raised beds, those aren't up yet.

Inside the greenhouse is another story!  Here is the spinach we've been enjoying for the past few months.  Isn't it gorgeous?

This bed has spinach, lettuce and rutabaga greens.  Yum.

Our carrots are almost ready to harvest.  Baby ones, at least.

Pea flowers.  We have both shelling and snow peas.

A broccoli bouquet.  I've been putting this in stir fry and quiche.

Kohlrabi.  Amazing!  It's good raw, baked, fried and mashed.

We grow our own citrus, even though we're in Virginia (zone 7).

Baby beets.

And inside the house, we've got peppers and cucumbers and tomatoes ready for transplanting into peat pots.  Those will be in the ground before we know it!

235  Re: IYP22 Crafting with the Glitz GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by MissingWillow on: March 06, 2013 04:00:20 PM
I received package #2 from LimeRiot today (a reminder, we're doing our own version of a Make A Friend swap) and I couldn't be happier!  First up are two hoops, one for my daughter who is expecting her first baby and has selected a woodland theme for her nursery.  She's going to love this!  The 'Oh Beehave' hoop is for our bee themed bath and was Lime's bubblewrap printing featured project.  I'm thrilled to own this!

One of the things we have in common is a stash of Philosophy 3 in 1's  and she added to both of our stashes!  Vanilla Cream Topping.. yum....   Cheesy

I had the fleece from my favorite sheep Beatrice spun into yarn which has been sitting in my craft room forever since I don't knit.  LimeRiot is a masterful knitter, and offered to make me something from her yarn.  I received socks (!), a cowl and a clippie for Beatrice.  All are so gorgeous and totally impressive!!!

Here's a closeup of the cowl.  She's magic, I tell ya!

Look at the talent that went into these socks!

And here's an action shot of Beatrice wearing her clippie.  She's stylin'!

Thank you so much, LimeRiot for being my partner and friend.   Kiss

237  Fairy House Tin in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by MissingWillow on: March 04, 2013 10:00:52 AM
Here's a tiny fairy house tin I made for Zephyr in a swap.

It has a cardboard roof and a poly clay door.  There's a mushroom image under glass on the roof and a mushroom patch on the back of the tin.

Inside lives a fairy resting in front of some shelves of things she's collected, including a bottle of fairy dust.  The lady image is from Alpha Stamps.

I finally got a shot of mine.  I'm starting every month with the bare trees.

My favorite so far is groundhog day!  I have candy heart fabric for tomorrow.  Grin
