51  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Link to the Past Crochetalong on: July 02, 2010 08:03:57 AM
Due to having some spare time in the afternoons, my triforce blanket is really making progress. Here are some pics of one fourth of the complete triforce, each six granny squares and sic granny ...uhm...triangles to form the shape (took me some time to puzzle out the best way to make those).

The loose ends will traditionally be woven in as the last and final task once the blanket is completed. More details and wip-posts can be found in my blog http://bohemiancrafting.blogspot.com/2010/07/to-carpal-tunnel-and-beyond-pt-2.html

Glad to know Im not the only person whos into Zelda-themed crocheting Tongue. Just started an afghan for dh, all black with a big triforce on it. Im just beginning to make a ton of black granny squares (12 per row) before really thinking about how to make the triforce, hope that doesn`t prove to be a mistake...
53  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Hoarding my yarn stash has to stop! on: June 11, 2010 05:00:27 AM
I can so relate; I really have to discipline myself when Im out to get "just one skein of this" because I used to end up getting much more for the "just in case"-scenario or buying more for a project I might begin in some time. As long as you keep everything stored away in a tidy manner, everything is okay with you Id say Grin. Just recently I did a big crochet afghan to take down the yarn Ive been accumulating for the last 15 years or so and it was kind of healing to see it put to a good use. I just got some new yarn, but only for the projects that have to be finished in the next few weeks, took me some mental strenght not to buy more though Tongue...

Wow, this is very cute and a great job seeing as how there was no pattern involved. The colors are just perfect for summer Grin!

57  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: A glorified Pringles can... on: May 24, 2010 12:29:17 AM
You might use it to store knitting or crocheting needles too. Or you might use it in your pantry to store spaghetti, Ive got a bought tin container to store spaghetti which has about the same measures and holds at least one package of that stuff.
In case you have scraps of paper you want to keep, this could be where to store them or you might decorate the container to use it as an extravagant gift wrapping.
